Cooling Fans under batteries

Hy Guys,

I have heard alot of conflicting info on whether they should be used or not? Some say yes for oboius reasons as the cooler the battery the better but some say this damages the cells as the outisde temp of the batteries is considreably cooler than actual battery temp and destroys or gives false peaks etc etc. Should they be used and if so on NiCads and NiMH's? Should they be used on Charge/Discharge or both? Any help would be great or past good or bad experiences.........

Have a look in the Electric Touring Car Forum as there is already a similar post to this with some relevant information.
