Offset rims?
 

Hello,

Could someone please explain to me what the difference between 0 and 2mm offset rims are? I am buying some rims and don't know the difference.

Do they make the car's track wider or something? Is it something to do with how they connect to he car?

you are corect...they are 2mm wider each side so you gain 4mm width. good for tamiya cars as they normally come about 184-186 width so by using 2mm offset rims you get the car out to 190mm. hope this helps you.

you can also get 4mm offset rims, great for tamiyas. the leagl limit for a elec tourer is 195mm.

The legal limit for ELE tourers is definately 190mm not 195mm....

interesting that the width is diff with or without a body. i thought you would always use a body???

anway most cars won't accept anything bigger than 2mm offest and still be legal. the lower level tamiyas are the only exception to these rule that i know of.

Dragonfire - The chassis with wheels on it must always have a 190mm width or less. But the width of the body itself must be 195mm or less(extra 5mm for wheel clearance). The width limit on the body stops people running 200mm bodies which would create more downforce as well as having, in most cases, more wing placement options.
