Classes to be run will be:
5 cell Modified ISTC
6 cell Super stock 19 turn ISTC
6 cell Stock 27 turn ISTC
1/12th 4 cell Modified

For 1/10th ISTC classes this event is a control tyre event. The tyre chosen is the Muchmore Absolute 32 pre mount. These will be supplied mounted and glued and it is up to the competitor to maintain the gluing. Gluing related failures will be the responsibility of the competitor.

Tyres are open for 1/12th.

Entry fees:
$40 for first class and including BBQ dinner on Saturday night
$20 for each additional class
$35 per set of control tyres on rims (max quantities as per AARCMCC rules)
$50 late entry fee
$15 for additional persons for dinner Saturday night

Entries close Friday 6 June 2008.
A raffle will be run with some great prizes supplied by Hobby Express. Prizes and ticket costs to be announced.

All qualifiers and races for 1/10th classes 5 minutes duration. All qualifiers and races for 1/12th scale 8 minutes duration. There will be at least four rounds of qualifying. The number of rounds of qualifying may be increased to a maximum of six if time permits.

The use of tyre additives is permitted for this event. The use of odourless or low odour tyre additives is preferred. Additives with a strong odour may not be used for health and safety reasons.

hey swanny there are two types of muchmore tyres. the absolute and the sweep.

I was told Friday night that a couple of SA guys were having troupble getting tyres. I've confirmed with Model Flight that they have the tyres available and they've had them since early last week. Their pricing is $45 a set.

Just the entry form page. One of the Muchmore logos was covering the word "SPONSORS". Nothing else has changed.

swanny, can you confirm battery capasity for this event thanks.

As 4600s will be legal from 1 July 2008, they will be legal for use at this event. To be more specific, any 4600s that are on the approved list as of 1 July 2008 that are AARCMCC legal will be able to be used at this event.

As per AARCMCC correspondence dated March 2008, this will include, but is not limited to the following:

Enrich Power (EP) 4600 - 08
E-Power 4500,
GP460SCHR
LRP VTEC 4600 Fat Cobra SC-4600UP
LRP VTEC 4600 Big Mama SC-4600UP
Intellect 4600 SC-4600 HD Type
Ultra-Power 4500
SMC ENER-G 4600
Yokomo 4600 ZAP 2 X4600 IB

Also, Orion 4200 SHOs are also currently legal.

Clarified battery rules.

I've received further reports that people in Victoria are having trouble getting tyres. There's a bit of a story that I won't go into, but according to the importer, large orders were recently placed by Metro Hobbies and Radical R C Hobbies. Please contact either of these shops for supplies.

Supplies for the event are not in doubt. The order has been placed with Muchmore and I'm working with the importer to ensure that people can get tyres to practice on in the leadup to the event in the near future.

People should know that the tyre supply issue is not just limited to one brand. If we were to change brands, we would still have problems, probably bigger ones. Changing tyres is not something I'll be doing unless it is absolutely, positively necessary.

Sure hope your right about the tyres, I see the Vics have just had to change the brand of tyres they were going to use, I would hate to be buying and practicing on Muchmores for the SA titles and then it be changed at the last minute, not stirring, just hope your on top of it Swanny.

I'm on top of things Craig. From what I hear they never tried ordering tyres until too late. We got our order in in plenty of time.

What's the rationale behind 32s in the middle of winter? Surely 28s or 24s would be better suited to the conditions?

Are we allowed to cut grooves for the wet? ;)
