Xray NT1 DarkSide Thread

;) i thought i'd start up an aussie thread for the NT1. after all my troubles trying to set up my clutch, i've come across this setup courtesy of a Kyosho driver:blush:

give it a go, works like a charm

flyweights: Kyosho, drilled out to 4mm holes
clutch shoe: xray yellow
clutch bell: xray ventilated version
flywheel: xray lightweight version
spring: CRF square spring
thrust bearing: mugen
spring tension: .5mm from end of nut that holds flywheel in place
clutch gap shimming: .7mm (shim until bell does not touch shoe,
with both bearings installed and then add an extra .1mm shim)
endplay: .2mm

works awesome now! these measurements were
taken using a digital clutch gap/endplay tool available from brooklyn hobbies. (known by some of the moorebank boyz as the "Uremovic 2000" clutch tool:p )

share your setups here, pictures, and any other NT1 related issues, stories, anecdotes and tips for different tracks. The more you share, the quicker we can all go:sneaky::nod::D

Tom, pull your head out of the dark, and buy a Kyosho!

Buying a Kyosho would prob classify as pulling ones head out of the dark and sticking it up ones a#s!

Is it not a good thing to sledge the opposition a little? Especially when they are known to be inferior??

here is my modified nt1 disk. i've used two stock disks on my car to improve heat disipation and braking. i'm using the KM racing carbon fibre brake pads.

stage 1

i thought that it wasn't enough, so i went a little further. i elongated the channels so the air can escape through the disks as well:

i never had issues with the brakes overheating with two disks, but i wanted to do this just for the individual factor;)

I ran my nt1 the hwole nsw state title weekend and within 4 laps of driving it i beat my personal best by half a second at moorebank.. if it wasnt for a leaky engine i may have finished in the top 10 of the a final but was driving half paced due to no brakes and engine out of tune.

The nt1 is awesome!

Tomb im using the stock clutch setup out of the box and it works fine. however i did fry a thrust bearing in the semi final of state title. when i took the clutch screw off the bearing fell apart in my hands :(

depends ont he engine as well though dude. the xray thrust bearing is a bit fidgety i think, i prefer the mugen one man, less maintainance required.

tommy was complaining of brake fade, but you can fix it by using two stock brake disks i think.

post your setup john. My NT1 is at the mechanics getting a full service:lol:
