Yeah, it is good to allow people to buy a car that is out of the box and race it, however as you said, Tamiya asia cup/s race that class with Hop Ups permitted, i know in the past it has always been an issue for people to run out and buy all the options to race in the W.Finals, and get as much practice in with the new set up. However if the option is not there to go to Japan, then it wouldnt matter i guess. But i think alot of people who have this chassie have many options already. As the TT-01 has been around for a few years. The idea of running the 540J box motor is better than a sports tune in my opinion, but i also think this would be a really competitive class if hop ups were allowed, the pace and handling would be awesome. I like to race 540 as you push the car to its limits with the 'box motor'. options will make for a better handling car, but control on tyres (tamiya), the TEU-01 box speedy and tamiya bodys (of course) as Asia runs thier events. It would be good to see the TT-01 pushed to its limits, and novices with this car would more than likely have a few options i believe.
Just my thoughts anyway, im sure no matter what you decide, it will be an awesome event as it has been over the years, so well organised and controlled, truely IMO the best event in rc racing.....cant wait !

Good point Rod, I would think that GT2 would have to run Tamiya but not sure about GT1. Will have to think about that. I have a few weeks of from racing so I can start to work out the rules. Hope to have draft in a couple of weeks.

Hey Trev, just as a matter of interest, if there were sufficient interest, would it be possible to run an F1 class for the F201 chassis cars? There's gotta be plenty of them hiding in people's sheds (including mine!). Maybe run a motor with a bit of poke to make it interesting, perhaps 19T along the guidelines of the Challenge Cup??
Is there any interest in an F201 class from anyone?

Any more news Trev

Not at this stage, have started with the rules and have a few things to finalise in the next couple of weeks. Then we should be getting close to starting something.

I'm sorry for the delay guys. I have two weeks of from work starting Friday and I can't go any were either so it will be a perfect time to nut all of the specs out for the event. So I should be able to get it done then.
At this stage I am working in this direction:
classes: 2wd,mini,TTo1 stock,GT2,GT1.
GT1: open any Tamiya graphite chassis, 19t/10.5 brushless motors, Tire open rubber
GT2:Tamiya tub chassis cars, motor????
Stock :TT01 box stock - motor "kit"
Mini ; ??????? motor sports tune
2wd: Don't know to open it to all Tamiya 2wd cars or only 103gt one- motor brushed stock 27T/ 17.5 brushless
Still looking at control motor and tires for some class but they won't be Tamiya.
These ideas are what I have been toying with over last couple of weeks and nothing is solid yet. So like I said I should get it done in the next couple of weeks.
Sorry of the delay

GT2 could be a good avenue to promote the next spec in BL, 17.5
A control tire that is avaialble for a good price, with good performance at the venue.
2wd, suggest to limit it to F103GT only, GT bodies, any options (all brands)
American TCS uses Lipo, but this moght be too early for the Aussie racing market. Though IMO by the end of the year it will be accepted by the racers openly.
