Heaps of people use them in Brisbane and obviously think they are great.
There are three clubs here which have the later AMB system with which they work.
One will cost you about $120 so you need to make sure the club you mainly race at has a newish compatible system (AMBRC)

I've been using one...
They are so handy!
You don't have to remember to grab and return the transponder before and after you race.
You don't have to problem of accidently grabbing the wrong colour or number from the rack.
You can concentrate on other race prep things..
You don't have to drill a hole in your body to mount the thing.
BUT.....
the new ones (personal transponders) are digital so if you club still runs the old analog transponder system, they won't work.
best check with your race control.

We also run this system at Castle Hill off road, and will be loaning the decoder to Steve at Rooty Hill while he sends his away for the upgrades. This the reason for not running personals at the Winter Nuts
