hey!
the Fantom motor is the same as the trinity, but fantom have tuned it etc. So i feel the fantom is better, a tiny bit fater (in all honesty you prolly wouldnt even notice that speed) And the stciker on the fantom looks 10 times better... very important!

The Monster motor is manufactered by epic and Trinity sell it and so do Fantom, Axiom, Putnam, etc
The only difference between them as adrian said is the sticker and the company that tunes them.
I have used both Trinity and Fantom version and I think they are as good as each other.
I have had motors from both companies that have had very average numbers but are actually very good motors once they are run in, and I have had motors with incredible numbers which really suck.
What I found with both is that the numbers mean very little on the sticker. I guess if you have a choice get the one with the most power and torque.
And then you can tune it to your hearts content, i think this website www.bigjimracing.com is very good for tuning motors.

trinity even use a fantom dyno to 'dyno' their motors so theirs not much in it between the two.

run your bushes in, run your brushes in, if you cant solder use brushes with eyelets, no problem going fast use 28-35 roll out.
Both motors are the same, they just run there own springs and brushes.............
WE BUILD WHAT OTHERS DON'T...
WE SHARE YOUR VISION.
FEEL THE POWER...
FEEL THE FANTOM.

you may be interested to know that you can buy that motor sold be race prep called the "powerzone competition". the price should be better than either fantom or trinity and its still the same motor. the only diff is it will cum with racepreps "h-cut r" brushes.
i will be using a p2k2 based motor for this event because its peak power range is much lower than the "monster", more suited to the tight turns in the middle of the track. you will need to keep your monsters over 15000rpm or you will have little power. thats the facts according to a robotronics dyno.

Interesting, where are these motors avalable?
And what are the h-cut r brushes? slotted, narrowed?

H cut r brushes have two slots, one on each side so they look like a capital H

Interesting, never even considered that.

hobbytown can get em, or drop down the hill one fri nite and you can buy em from the canteen. give trev or linda a ring to make sure they bring one for you as they don't don't stock huge numbers....
if u r interested.. h cut r brushes give great rpm and improved power. they seem to be a low to medium silver brush but the com needs touching up more often with these.

Fantom, F315 are the bomb, for longer life try F321...
There's no compromise for outright POWER...
There are some that don't care about how fast you can corner..
