Tamiya Bodyshells
Hey RaCers,
Any advice on which Tamiya sedan shell is the best choice for aerodynamics etc.. TCS is coming up soon, and there is a world of rusty nails out there.........oops, thats from a Simpsons episode. Must stop watching telly while I type LOL:D :sweat:lol:   :p :) |
A couple of stand-outs The Ferrari 360 modena is really good and also the Toyota Altezza.

i would recomend against the altezza. it generates ALOT of front downforce which can give you more turn in than your rear can handle. the fastest ppl last year all ran modenas even with a few altezzas in attendance. if the rules allow for that jumbo wing on the mr ss to be used on the altezza, it would prolly be better.

Well judging of last years TCS worlds in Japan. The body of choice was the new NSX and was by clear fact that this is the body to run. It actually looks real hot as well.
It's the body with the fin on the back window I think it's called a 2003 NSX. Another body that featured was the body that was on the SS can't think what it's called. But my choice would have to be the NSX. Not all of those worlds best Tamiya drivers could of all been wrong. Coxy. |
Stateside the Altezza is not being run at all.
The NSX was 3/4 of the field at the Los Angeles regional with the last 1/4 being the Modena. Either car would be a great choice I prefer the NSX myself |
cool, i haven't seen the new nsx.. i asume they have gotten rid of the abs plastic wing in favor of a lexan one?

i had a look on the tamiya web site but couldn't find a "2003 nsx"
they do have "2000" models of the supra, skyline and nsx among others that would be great, well maybe not the skyline. is the short wheelbase mod for the tao4 allowed in gt1? i think the mrs body would have the most downforce and best balance of the lot |
There is a 2002 model, the Raybrig NSX, not sure if that has the lexan wing though.....
