Default Brushed motor turns to Brushless Motor turns

Hey

I just wanted to know the equivalent brushless motor to a 10 turn brushed motor
& a 12 turn brushed motor

Cheers

Respectively, 4.5 and 5.5 are pretty close matches. Generally, double the number of turns in a brushless motor to get the brushed equivalent.

5.5 is like an 8 turn

4.5 is close to a 6

6.5 is an 11

7.5 is a 13

A 4.5 is more like a 7 turn IMO but with more torque. A 3.5 is like a 6 turn again with more torque.

I think a 4.5 the originally LRP/Novak was meant to be the equiv of a 7 or 8 Turn with the 5.5 about the same as a 10 Turn.

But not sure how they compare now with sintered rotors common place and standard with new LRP X11 4.5s and 3.5s.

The Speed Passion/Orion(Feral) apparently have a lot more power though so i dont know what they compare to, but these motors arent really sealed cans so they may require more regular cleaning.

Apparently they don't have as much torque or efficiency as the novak and lrp, probably because of the internal fan. They do sound better though.

ey, i have runtime issues with the Orion 4.5. Seems to lose mass amounts of power at the 4:30 mark. Where as with an LRP 4.5 i am fine. I actually like the feel of the Orion better though. I think the Orion is also faster so thats what i like about it. On big tracks though i try to stay away from the Orion/Speedpassion as i tend to dump.

With turns i think a 4.5 = 7t. And a 3.5 = 6t.

Good Luck

they have HEAPS of torque and the sintered rotor that comes with it sure it good.

the magnets r so strong that its like rotating a brushed motor, it stops at certain points due to magnetic field.

less efficient? if the can is being cooled it would be more efficient as your not losing energy in the form of HEAT which is a killer of motors and sucks alot of energy out

with the speed passion motors, say a 6.5r speed passion, its equivalent to a novak 5.5, but better. so that means speed passions 2.5r would be equal to a novak 1.5, if there was such a thing. the speed passion 2.5r runs at 99,360 RPM with a 6 cell pack, but u can only run 5 cell with the 2.5r as 6 cell would kill your speedy as its that powerful

Ryan, you miay need to play around with the gearing more. Also a badly setup car will use a lot more power than one that carries good corner speed.
I have not seen you race much, but looking at your car at the MMR you are a heavy breaker, and punch it driver. Try to smooth it out, and you will find the Feigio motor will outperform the others.

I have the same problem, I've since bought a pancar and put a 3.5 novak in it to smoothen out my driving style. I think many who haven't ran offroad have this problem.
