Hey guys,
Just wanna clarify a few things if possible..
It is in regards to the tires:
1. Is traction Compound and Tire Warmers allowed in both 10th and 12th scale?
2. Most i purchase my practice tires from the club? Or can i bring these with me? Obviously i must purchase the tires for qualifying and finals from the club, but what about practice???
Thankyou
P.S Any info on what works best on that track? I.E Body type, What Mod Motor for 10th and 12th, What Gearing, Set Up (Xray T2 001 and Cyclone 12) and also tires for 12th scale???? Thanx Heaps

Nitrobuggies,
Some answers to your questions:
1. See post #1 on this thread (yes they are allowed)
2. I was asked this same question yesterday. I'll have to chase an answer from Bob.
Body type: the Mazdaspeed 6 is the popular choice
Mod motor: go for all the horsepower you can get, a 3.5 is probably the way to go for 1:10. 1:12 unknown to me.

Get your entries in!!!
With less than a week to go until close of entries, anyone intending to enter is to make sure that entries are received by Friday (Australia Post do not deliver on weekends). Entries received after close of entries Sunday WILL incur the $50 late fee and this will have to be paid before the commencement of qualifying.
An entry list will not be posted until entries close.

I would have expected a response to my question on practice tyres, but have not had one yet so I'm going out on a limb.
In the AARCMCC rules there is nothing to say that you have to buy practice tyres from the host club or that practice tyres are controlled. That said, if you go to Hobby Habit to buy the same tyre set, you will pay the same price as what the club is selling them for (I didn't come up with the pricing). So, there is no difference in cost to the competitor if you buy them from the club or not, but if you order them with your entry you will be guaranteed to get some as I'm not sure what availability is likely to be from shops if people want to buy them just before the event.
Just remember that as they are pre-mounts, you will not be able to do ANYTHING to the tyre set as far as holes go.
Also, make sure your entries are received by Friday. Use Express Post if you have to get them here from interstate if you need to.

Last year I took my own practice tyres, and practiced for two days on them.
Actual qualifying and race tyres were purchased at the event as required (as part of entry), then assembled/glued in front of scruitineers and marked as required.
The actual qual/race tyres were handed out and returned each day. We also had the opportunity to purchase/collect an additional set of tyres if we made the A-final.
Was itching to come this year but other commitments have come my way, I'm sure everyone will have a great time!
