Which type of 415 is it (original, MS, MSX, MRE or MSXX)? What class are you running in?

Corey The Great 06-26-2007 12:27 PM

I've got the msxx, I've already got trf try hard in my favourites

Burlap 06-26-2007 04:01 PM

Ok, I run a bastardised MSX/MRE in Stock, but the bottom deck chassis plate on the MSXX is thinner than the MRE bottom deck.

I'd highly recommend looking at the 415 in onroad electrics forum. There is a ton of information in there.

I run full MRE spec now (started off as an MSX and upgraded the bits) the MSXX lower deck is too thin for me (too much flex!)

Best move, short arms kick ass :)

WAY more steering!

.

sell it and buy a JRXS

That's what I am pretty well running. Might look at getting the air scoop for the motor, so the speedy can sit better on the chassis.

So apart from the front bumper, all the screw holes etc between the MSXX and MRE(MSX) bottom plates are identical?

nexxus 06-27-2007 03:39 AM

MSXX / MRE lower decks are identical except for the front bumper, and the MRE is 2.5mm the MSXX is 2mm, also I think the rear on the MSXX tapers in a little more.

Same holes throughout though.

What parts do you have to upgrade to make the MSX an MSXX?

Sorry, I am a dirty Mexican and don't race in Sydney. If you race Stock, I can give you some general tips for setup.

Check out this PDF file:

http://www.tamiya.com/english/rc/rcm...trf415msxx.pdf

I don't have part numbers, but you need different steering turnbuckles, front bumper assembly, all aluminum steering bridge parts, spacers, 10mm grub screws, top and bottom decks and steering posts. The existing bulkheads will fit with no modification, same with the centre pulley.

Lower Deck, Upper Deck, front bumper assembly, Centre pully is different as are both diffs (different teeth) and the front one way is a completely new assembly. Air duct, rear holder for the centre pully and new bearing holders, steering assembly uis new, so need those as well as new shims and posts, also the MSXX runs the new hex ball nuts which are stronger and easier to remove.
