Sam,
What does it say on the back of your instruction manual of the tamiya book?

i've found them to be even worse because they're smaller teeth, and i can't reach higher rollouts with the 0.4's which you need if u race at logan

Out of curiosity, what gearing are you running at meakin, and what target roll out?

ahh! you fell into the same trap I did., i've been doing some working out, and i think that the gearing .04 is possible, it doesn't look right, ie rollout of like 39, but it seems to work well in my testing so far, however, havn't tried it on the track yet.

But i'll be interested to here what your gearing is

i've only raced at logan once, but will soon be a going regularly, and i will be looking for about 44mm, which seems to be a good choose due to all the info i've got from other people. also, running .04 at logan could be dangerous because small rocks are common at logan, and could easily wrech .04 gears

if u plan on racing u require foam tyres, otherwise i don't think u'll make it around the first corner without slipping off the track! i go with nathan graham and we usually get there after 4:00pm, and racing usually starts after dusk. wether that is being changed i don't know.

if heavy is there i will be able to buy foams on the night and race. otherwise i will be spectating.

and back to my original question, if anyone has some advice with the spur gears.

Thanks sam for the info. Well i have used rubbers at meakin...its fun...
handled good..and Adam is to thank for that.

Your question...and i hope this helps sam. Can you get andonized aluminum spur ?
is that possible.. although it would be expensive it would sure last longer if you treat it right.

it sure would last. though i've had this discussion with other people b4, and we concluded that they don't make them because metal on metal would create a hell of a lot of friction, making it much slower. and the sound . i've seen kevlar gears advertised on some american site once, but i can't remember the site and i don't want to pay $20 shipping for something that cost $20
