Anodising

hey guys, does anyone know of a good anodiser in the sydney area that they have used and can recommend. ideally someone who has shipped a whole lot of touring car parts for a change of colour.

also do you need to remove the steel drive pins from aluminium dog bones before you have them anodised and if so any tips on getting them out?

what does it generally cost?

Hey Ben,

Yes you need to remove any steel when anodising aluminium, otherwise the current draw goes through the roof!

and the steel gets ukfayed, rusted, and ruined in the process ;)

7075 alloy comes out a darker, wierd looking uneven colour, so if you have a xray diff, and you want to anodise the diff outdrives keep in mind it will have the same inconsistent "look" that the grey has. just imagine this in the colour of your choice. the layshaft on the xray is also 7075, and comes out this "weird" colour. ;) most, if not all kits majority parts are 6061, except for maybe high wear parts, like layshaft or diff outdrives.
