Default 1/5 at Little Hampton

Hi carlton...
Contact Andrew from ASP racing..hes the FG agent at our track...He might be able to help you with you tyres/air-box..
When we go interstate racing..we tend to send the motors/fuel tank via ground freight...we take the chassis with us on the plane..
many a time Ive had to open my stuff, pull the motor and fuel tank out and try and explane to the flight guys "that its not dangerouse, and its sealed".
Fun at the airport......
Glad to see your comming down, we can meat at last...
Should be a good meet...you should get here a couple of days early..to practice.....The track should be opened on thurs, fri.......I cant make till sunday.......Im hoping to go up and have a practice early in the week..if i can....
I reakon you can run 75mhz...if you have a hassel..some one can lend you a Module and reciever...what radio do you use?
See you there.

Sorry. Only legal frequencies in Australia are 27, 29 and 40 MHz or 2.4 GHz spread spectrum radios. 75 MHz is not allowed.

Club racing number at littlehampton are great at the moment with another huge attendance with 1/10th scale nitro's and the trucks.

10 Trucks turned up to race. While the final was a little disappointing due to the numbers of DNS the five guys who made it that far put on a great race. It was very pleasing to see some of the newer drivers coming to grips with their truck and putting in some great average times.

There was no common thread for the DNS some guys had bearing failure while others just had "a bad day" to prove that this can happen to anybody in any class of racing .

Final results

Michael 36 laps 915
George 35 902
Adam 30 895
David T 18 558
Chris DNF

Default Truck Bodies.

Michael ran with the Smaller of the two Merc bodies (MB) for the first time and managed an extra three laps to put him on the same lap as Paul on a good day. So I feel the days of people running the larger Ategro body are limited. While it looks the part and is HUGE it just seems to have too much body roll.

Hopefully next meet I'll have a new MB shell as well, so the racing will be even closer.

The two bodies of choice seem to be the CAT and the MB Merc

The MAN truck seems to handle ok but the replacement cost makes it an expensive body to race

Next race meeting at Littlehampton
12th May a few of the large scale drivers (1/5th scale cars only) will be away at the Pre-world's in Brisbane. So that should mean more track time for the rest of us

With most of the 1/5th scale drivers packed up ready for the Worlds. The truck driver's out numbered the other Large scalers

The race meet was a washout with a very heavy shower around 11:30 which left a small river running across the track.

But during the practice

David T and Grahame showed that they both have worked on there setups and have there trucks handling well.

One setup tip that seems to work for the new ( less aggressive?) drivers is to limit the amount of Camber that they run.

Next race meeting 14th OCT at Littlehampton.

Should be a good turn out with 8 to ten trucks again.

Default Bump stop tips

Simple tip for the new guys.

Add a couple of dremal polishing pads to your shock shafts to limit movement.
eg. they will act as "bump stops"
see picture.

This also works on the big off-road Monster trucks as well.

You missed out. It was a small turnout, but we still ran. Only one rain delay and the 5th scalers missed out on their final due to a shower right before they were due to start, at which point the meeting was called. Everyone else got four qualifiers and a final, 15 minutes for the gas classes.

Glad you guys got to race.

I was working at the Airshow and the wind was too strong for a few of the events.

See you at the next meet.

The wind played havoc with our electric tourers as they got blown about a bit because they are so light (1500g). At one point my car did an impression of a Mercedes from Le Mans a number of years ago.
