Thats part of what you expect when you're running 2 classes.

Are you running 1/12th scale too Jamie?

Jamie, as with all state/nats, all classes are run on the same days...

quals on sat, and qual/finals on sunday. If you run both 1/12th and 1/10th, you'll be running them on the same day, obviously requiring carefull preparation....

AS opposed to what you are saying i will probley not be running a 1/12 then, I have never ran on carpet before so i will just be running stock instead of mod.
James what classes will you be running

I'm running stock, 19t, mod and 1/12th.

no, not really, hopefully I will be running mod and 1/12th.

I dont feel the need to defend a stock state title, I'm a firm believer that when a state title is won, it's time to move on....

If you've never run carpet before, I suggest you get down to PRECC in the new year and get some laps in... you'll need a few nights there to get yourself in the groove... there's a whole new element of skill required, including, most importantly, "creep".. Creeping is an art

You will also need to develop the taste for T-Bone, which is always served at the 1st corner of the straight Although with the new mysterious track design that may not be the case.

Speaking of which, I asked earlier on in the thread about whether PRECC would be considering running an extra roll of carpet during the States. Any response to that from the Committee?

No for the extra roll of carpet. The track isn't suited for it, not to mention it will be a MAJOR change of surface (from grip to drifting), not to mention the height difference.

I will let one secret of the track out, any one for a hairpin first turn?? It is going to be a fun track, trust me. And i think 11 second lap times will be a bit hard to reach.

Come down to the track and get some laps in. James is right it is a whole different experience to drive on carpet. Racing starts again 16th Jan.

Once the RC12L4 arrive, I think there will be a few of use coming down to practise.
Plus Dave needs to know what parts to get in: ie hop ups.

Hey guys i just have a few questions as i might be on the lsit aswell for 1/12 if all is ok.

1. Will there be a stock 1/12 mod and 1/12 stock if only mod i dont mind i can still run mod with the 5.5r.
2.How many guys do you think will turn up for the 1/12 class.
3. Im a trophy hunter so i think ill get a 1/12 and run that instead of touring car.
HEHE

The track has been posted.

www.precc.org.au/states

What spose to slow us down hasn't worked. times are already bellow 12secs.

The 27's and 19's are fast, the mods are having a few problems, brushless aren't too bad but for all motor heat is critical. Motors are getting very hot being summer and a very off/on track.

What out for the first turn, it can get messy. Pole or a good start is CRITICAL unlike the old track because it is called carnage corner.

Check out the main PRECC site to get an idea on times.

Look forward to seeing you all down there.

Will 540 class get 3 finals like the rest of the classes, or will there be only one?

Only A-main finalists have 3 finals, all others (B, C, etc) have one. I would imagine all support classes will have one final.

Support classes at other events have had 3 finals. So unless time is an issue, then why not.

My point exactly, we had 3 finals for 540 at last year's States.
