And the supplementary number is....
UK - Mod 4 cell
EFRA - Mod 5 cell
ROAR - Mod 4 cell
JAP - Mod 4 cell - 8mins!
What for Australia? Would be nice to start the 2007 with some fresh battery rules. Aus normally follows ROAR, so will we adopt 4 cell? The Jap spec cars looked pretty fast on the bottom end with less weight.

solely as a consumer. i'd choose what the Asian Market is planning on doing. Alot of the Electric tourers come from Japan, and we are closer geographically to Asia as well.
Europe is a big market also, but if the USA/canada/Latin america body as well as the Japanese ruling body go 4 cell, you are left with a pritty big size of the RC market in 4 cell territory. (as well as UK)
has the UK finally adopted the euro or do they still consider themselves non european?
the problem if euro go 5, and the rest 4, then car designs may be totally different in these two sectors, leaving the xray/ corraly fans in oz racing a specifically designed 5 cell car in a 4 cell world

I say solar powered, with regenerative braking technology.
OR,
What about having a pedal powered car with an RC robot (on board) to pedal, that would be cool. BK, do you still have your tamiya RC boxiing men??

big track maybe diff story, but we hardly run on large tracks though. i wonder how 4 cell holds up on carpet? ACT club challenge with a brushless was the most fun i had for a loooooooong time in tourer.

I run 4 cells in an XRay T1M and with a Sphere 3 star it's fairly quick, easily outpaces a Stock / 19Turn in a straight line, but have to have a FDR around 10.5 or above to eliminate cogging due to the lower voltage. Would be interesting if it became the norm, could see the shorter wheel based cars get some more love?

Untill the chassis start to be designed for 4 or 5 cells why should we change at all? will the chassis even be changed for 4 or 5 cells? i mean what about stock it will still be 6 cell so will 540, 19t, 23t etc etc etc it might just mean that a car has a choice of 3 lower decks from now on, a 4, 5 or 6 cell version.
At our club I dont see 4 or 5 cell mod happening at all in the short to medium term, mainly as it would mean having two sets of packs one for mod and one for everything else for starters. This is just another thing that will make the hobby more expensive to people who want to move up to mod or race it from time to time. it may be easier on ESC's and motors but pushing the limits is a choice the top guys make if they want to be at the bleeding edge then they take the risk of cooking a motor or blowing a ESC from time to time.
at the moment I only race mod at the club level and have only done so on and off untill the start of this year, where I went for a couple of seasons and the out right speed is the biggest attraction as stock slow and dead boring let alone anything slower, slowing mod would probably kill touring cars for me.
ok, i am done, soap box is being put away.
