haha well turns out i cant come next meeting well ill come and watch coz i only have one 5000mah nimh battery and i dont have my novak esc or anything yet which ill need another $700 to set up my rc car with the motor esc and lipos haha. who said running stock was cheap!

I can give you a silver can motor if you just want to have a run. The 5000MAH batt should be ok. I only have a 2000MAH battery, recon i will be luck to get 5 laps in!

I have some spare deans type plug as well!

and if they are like mine and "Not Matched", charge them at 1C is all good, ie, 5000mah is a 5amp charge, 4600mAh is 4.6 amps. My charger has a 2amp discharge and a voltage cutoff so i just used that, brought some 15yr old Nicd battery packs back to life with a few cycles so cant be bad

No harm in trickle charging them i dont think, but yeah normally you charge them at the 1C rate and they'll be sweet. What you will find is that the cells will warm up when they fully charge. You can charge the batteries the night before you use them if u wish but you will want to top them up before you run them, get them warm, but not hot!
Lipo is so much less hassle as you will see in the future and you will ask yourself why did i bother with Nimh.

I'll be at Ryde on Sunday with my B4, and my Slash, possibly my Mf2 aswell, if you want come down for a look, they have a novice class too so you could always have a race as well. Its an easier track and a good place to practice if you dont have any marshals, its very forgiving.
St Ives is still the top track around though
