At track inspection late this morning the venue was very wet with standing water and lots of water streaming from surrounding area. The rain has continued to fall over St Ives this afternoon, with many heavy showers. So there will be no racing tomorrow (24th July).
The next race meeting should be the 2nd Sunday of August but this will clash with the NSW State Titles at Ryde (Sydney RC).
So we will need to advise re the next race dates.

With a rainy July meaning no club race days at all, we look into August for better weather.
But with the NSW State Titles at Ryde (Sydney RC) on our usual race weekend (the 2nd Sunday of the month i.e. the 13th and 14th Aug) we will not be racing that weekend.

So I have been trying to determine if the Cars n Coffee events that use to occur at the Showground the 1st Sunday of each month (and resulted in all parking around the track being used from about 7.30am till mid morning) are still a regular feature and have large numbers in attendance. But I can't seem to get any clear info.
So if anyone can assist, I would be happy to hear.

With concerns we can't offer racers space to be able to park and pit near the track this coming Sunday (if Cars n Coffee is on) we are looking at racing the 3rd Sunday of August (21st) with the 4th Sunday (28th) as back up in the event the weather doesn't play nice.

As it appears the Cars n Coffee events still occur at the Showground each 1st Sunday of the month, and can attract over 100 cars plus spectators, it doesn't appear we are any chance to get our usual space this coming Sunday. So we will plan for the 3rd Sunday in August and hope the weather is kind.

Don't forget NSW State Titles at Ryde (Sydney RC) are on the 2nd weekend in August. Entries close this Sunday if interested in a run on the dirt.

Reminder. No racing at St Ives this weekend as the NSW 1/10th Electric Off Road State Titles are this weekend at Sydney RC (Ryde).
Track should be open for anyone wanting to practice.

Due to racing Sunday just gone we will not be racing this coming Sunday (28th).
And with a few events happening in September that some members may be attending (Hills Vintage RC Festival & the Australian Titles in Qld) we have decided to look to race the 1st and 3rd Sundays on Sept.
This will mean a clash with the Cars n Coffee event held at St Ives Showground on the first Sunday of the month. Some members checked it out this month and feel we can look to race if we start late. So presently thoughts are to suggest people attend after 9.30am (you can always arrive earlier and check out what cars are left) we look to take Registrations around 10am and start racing around 10.30am.
Will provide more info closer to the date.
Please let me know if this later start arrangement does or doesn't appeal to people.

Due to several members planning to attend a Vintage RC event at Hills, on the second weekend in September, we are looking to race at St Ives this coming Sunday the 4th September. This will clash with a Coffee n Cars event at the showground in the morning. So we are looking at delaying racing start until 10.30am to allow the cars and spectators to vacate the parking near the track. So at this stage we suggest people arrive no earlier than 9.30am (unless you want to check out the full size cars first). We will look to take race registrations around 10am and try to get racing by 10.30am. Will update re any changes as the weekend approaches.

Unfortunately, the rain has come back and doesn't look to be leaving us soon. So, no racing tomorrow.

Weather is looking more promising for a club race day this coming Sunday. Yes it is out of our usual weekends of each month but we are trying to allow for a cracking Vintage event last Sunday and Australian Titles at the end of the month.
So plan is for club race day this Sunday the 18th Sept. Usual 9am rego and try to get racing by 9.30am.

With a long weekend in the middle of school holidays it seems best to revert back to our usual 2nd and 4th Sunday's of the month, for racing. So that will mean the 9th and the 23rd of October will be the planned race days. Will send more info closer to each date.
