Next club day at St Ives is scheduled for Sunday 10th April. Much will depend on how the track and area comes up after the predicted rains towards end of the week. Will probably update some time Saturday.

With the heavy recent rain and ongoing showers, the track will likely be wet and not dry out even if the showers stop, due to moisture under it. Plus the surrounding grounds will be wet, even if no more rain. So racing for tomorrow has been cancelled.

Hi all,
After such a lovely day today, it appears the weather is suppose to get wet again. But at this stage we will plan for a race meet on Sunday 24th, if things don't get as wet as expected. Will update you later in the week.

Hi all,

Today seems to be coming up nice and prediction is only a low to moderate chance of a small shower late tomorrow morning. But they seemed to indicate today was similar.

So we will plan to have a race meet tomorrow (Sunday the 24th).

Will look to start to take entries around 8.30 and get racing a bit after 9am.

Track will need a clean up so if anyone can get there around 8am to help out, much appreciated.

Usual classes of novice, 540 (anything with a 540 motor), 2wd, 4wd and Short course trucks, if we get enough entries in each.

Cheers, Thommo

As this coming Sunday is Mothers day as well as the usual St Ives RCCC race day, the committee has decided to shift planned race days in May to the 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month (yes there are 5 Sunday's this month).
It was felt that many participants might have family events that might clash with attending racing.
So race days will be Sunday the 15th and Sunday the 29th of May.
Hopefully weather will be kind and the track area can dry out some more (never seen it so wet around the St Ives Showground area).

Plans are still in place for a club race meeting this coming Sunday but with the present weather forecast, the condition of the track will need to be reviewed Friday/Saturday.
Hopefully the weather will improve but as the St Ives site has had a lot of rain the past few months, it may not need a lot for the track to be too wet again.
The club will endeavour to race a Sunday in May, it will just depend on us getting some sunshine. Fingers crossed.

Track is surprising dry and so we should be good to proceed with club race day, tomorrow if no overnight rain.
Will look to start taking entries around 9am and try to get racing by 9.30am.

There is a council chemical clean up event at the St Ives showground this coming weekend. As this will take up most of the space we use for pits and the carpark it will not be feasible to have our race day (assuming it would be dry).
The following Sunday (the 1st Sunday of June) is usually a Coffee n Cars day at the Showground and it also fills the car park and surrounding space from very early so we will instead resume racing on our usual 2nd Sunday of June (12th) and the 4th Sunday (26th).
Thanks to Michael T who gave up his Sat arvo to pressure wash the track surface to remove much of the sand and dirt that had washed across the track with all this recent rain.
Traction should be much better for the next race day.
The committee is also looking at a working bee day on the 1st Sunday in June (5th). This will be to try to improve the facility will some much needed replacement of corflute and to extend the timber around the sweeper. A track layout change may also go ahead. More info will be provided closer to the 5th June.

Next race day for St Ives RCCC is next Sunday the 12th June.

The proposed working bee for this weekend has been postponed. Need a bit more time to plan and organise a few things.
The track should be fine for next Sunday as much of the dirt, sand and mould has been removed already.

While weather is cold things are looking dry for Sunday. Which is a nice change. Great if we can just get a race meet done.
Will look to get entries open around 9am and get racing by 9.30.
Please try to bring the correct cash ($10 first entry $5 second class, assuming we get enough people to have multiple classes running) to help us out.
Bring you lunch etc. also as not much in way of food/ drink available at the showground or near by.

This coming Sunday is our usual race day but as you can probably understand, presently we will have to wait to see if the weather improves. Will update closer to Sunday.

Track inspection and it reportedly looks good for racing.
Issue is forecast which is not good for St Ives area tomorrow.
Plan presently is to wait till about 7.30pm to see if forecast changes, recognizing many travel some distance we thought this was preferable to trying to make a call early Sunday morning.

Unfortunately the forecast is still looking at 80% chance of rain from 4am till 10am and likely up to 5mm. With the track and grounds having already had a lot of rain it would be unlikely we can race even if we only get a fraction of this predicted rain.
So racing will be cancelled for tomorrow and we look forward to a drier weekend in 2 weeks.

Another weeks lead up to a St Ives club race day and another forecast of a weeks worth of rain. Presently it is suppose to rain every day until after Sunday. And not light rain for some of those days. So it will be a wait and see and we will let you know closer to Sunday re prospects of racing.
