Weather is looking more positive for Sunday. Maybe bring an annex if you have one, just in case we get the predicted shower.
The track can cope with a bit of moisture although it will get a bit slippery. Main issue is making sure the rest of the track area is not too slippery for marshalling.
We will look to start taking entries from about 8.45am/9.00am and try to get racing by 9.30am.
You will need to QR sign in and show your fully vaccinated.
Great if people can bring correct monies ($10 first class and $5 each additional class). It will just help us out
We will need to maintain 1.5m spacing so drivers stand will not be at full capacity.
Anyone new to St Ives, be aware there is often a coffee/ snacks van on the Showground but you will need to bring lunch/ drinks as club no longer has space for storing items like BBQ etc.

Cheers.

Hi all, had my first race day at your club last weekend, thanks for the hospitality. when is the next race day? Keen to cut some more laps. Also if there is anyone keen on meeting mid week or an off weekend for practice in between club races leave a message as I'm thinking of going to pump through some laps to get rid of the rusty driving.

Hi @SuperStockAus
Glad you enjoyed the race day.
Next race meet will be the second Sunday in Nov (which in Nov the 14th).
Bit of a delay as there was 5 Sundays in Oct and we race the 2nd and 4th Sunday.

Did you log into RC Tech and then go to Wanted to Buy section and then click on a New Thread to then create your add for the item you are after?

Hi all,
After all this rain, the forecast is looking promising for racing tomorrow (14th November).
So we will look to start taking entries from about 8.45am/9.00am and try to get racing by 9.30am.
You will need to QR sign in and show your fully vaccinated.
Great if people can bring correct monies ($10 first class and $5 each additional class). It will just help us out
We will need to maintain 1.5m spacing so drivers stand will still not be at full capacity.
Anyone new to St Ives, be aware there is often a coffee/ snacks van on the Showground but you will need to bring lunch/ drinks as club no longer has space for storing items like BBQ etc.

Also a big thanks to all the 2WD guys for being good sports and letting Oscar run around with the "grown ups". Initially he was very worried and nervous, but after the first race he realised you're not all as scary as you look and he felt very special that he was on the track with you. This was a big deal for him and made what would have otherwise been a bit of a fizzer day, quite special.

This coming Sunday (28th) should be St Ives RC club day.
Weather is a bit questionable at this stage so will update closer to Sunday.
Friday is expected for heavy rain but improving for Sat & Sun.
So likely will have to make call, sometime Saturday.
But pencil it in at this stage. Track copes fine with rain.
It is just the surrounding ground that needs to be safe for marshalling.

Track inspection just now, found lots of standing water and while able to assist the drainage, track was very wet and soft and any exposed areas of clay are very slippery. So while weather is suppose to ease overnight and into tomorrow, racing is really not feasible for tomorrow (Sunday 28th), so will make call now to cancel tomorrows racing.

Next race day for St Ives, will be 2nd Sunday in December, the 12th

If it's not Covid 19 it's the Weather. Can't win can we.

While wet tomorrow, the forecast for the weekend looks much more promising. So plans are being made to have our final race day of 2021, this coming Sunday (12th) Dec. Will monitor the forecast and update closer to Sunday.

Presently the weather forecast is optimistic for good conditions (dry) today and tomorrow. Will do track inspection late this afternoon and provide confirmation of situation re racing tomorrow (Sunday 12th).

Track inspection and apart from some wind damage to carpet (fixed) and a lot of bark from shedding gum trees (tried to remove but with the wind this afternoon, it was falling almost as quick as I was removing it), we look good to go tomorrow. Track has dried pretty well. Hopefully nice day tomorrow and we should be perfect to race.
The track will need to good clean in the morning so if anyone can help out from about 8am with blower etc. while I set up, it would be greatly appreciated. A lot of sand/ soil has washed across the track surface so it will be slippery is spots. But great if you tend to run dirt pin tyres rather than carpet specific pins. The latter will just need to find the line.
Plan will be to take registrations from about 8.45am and try to get racing by 9.30am.
Bring correct cash in you can to help us out. $10 first class, $5 each additional class.
Last meeting on 2021 so make it if you can.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to success of the St Ives RC Car Club during 2021. While there was an interruption during lock down, race numbers were good during the year and the atmosphere was always relaxed and enjoyable.
Hopefully we can make some further track changes and improvements for an even better 2022. And will again see many of you who have raced at SIRCCC this past year, along with a lot of new faces.

Anyone keen for a final hit out in 2021 should look at the Sat night event coming up at Sydney (Ryde RC). This is on old school clay/ dirt track. Check out their Facebook page or enter via RC Sign Up.

Anyone with a vintage buggy or rear motor buggy should also consider the Vintage morning event at Sydney (Ryde) RC this coming Sunday. (Yes they have modern buggies etc. Sat night with a dedicated Vintage event the Sunday morning).
It is scheduled only for 9am - 1pm and you can only enter one of the 4 classes with max of 12 entries each class.
Again check out the Sydney RC Facebook page or enter via RC Sign Up.

Always good to support the other RC tracks in Sydney to ensure we have several venues for us to enjoy our hobby.

Hope everyone has a great break and stays safe.
We will plan to resume the 4th Sunday in Jan 2022.
We might try for a working bee sometime in Jan to try to get the track ready for the new year.
