Plan is for racing at St Ives RC this coming Sunday 14th March. Will aim to take entries around/ bit before 9am and try to get racing by 9.30am. Cheers.
Hi all,
Weather forecast looks very poor for tomorrow with 95% prediction of rain and it could start as early as 7am but is also predicted to continue all day.
So, while we have been lucky with other Sundays that looked a bit doubtful, this one seems likely to have some rain as it carries up from Victoria.
So, to save people that have to travel being very disappointed, we will cancel racing for tomorrow (14th March) and plan for next race day to be the 28th March.

Thanks for the info. New Tekin motor en-route to bring my B44 up to speed. Just out of interest, what is considered a decent lap time for 2wd stock (17.5T) and 4wd stock (13.5T) at St Ives nowadays please?
Hi Jimmy,
I'll have to check if we have the results from last meet available.
I threw out the printed race sheets.
I think 13.5 is pushing 19/20 at the pointy end.
17.5 I suspect is a little behind this.
The speed across a heat can vary a fair bit with quite a difference in the abilities of drivers and the track doesn't really allow you to use the top speed of current gen motors.
So guys with quick enough motors are doing fine.
We hope to make some small changes to layout over coming weeks/ months so hopefully we can make a lap a little longer.
Cheers, Thommo

See you there.

Hi all, Things looking good for racing this coming Sunday 11th April. Will look to get entries underway bit before 9am so we can get racing by 9.30am. Cheers.
Hopefully tree issue will be sorted over next week.
But I need members and guests to tell me if we should run our next club day as scheduled on 25th April?
This is Anzac day and so some people may have other plans.
But do we run our usual race meet?
Or we could mix it up a little.
We can start a little later and make it a lower entry fee with view of 2 qualifiers & 2 finals, if people prefer?
Main issue is that if we don't run a club day on the 25th April, then the next likely club date would be 23rd May.
Due to:
2nd May is Cars & Coffee (1st Sunday of the month) and the area near the track is usually packed out by 8am thru to 10.30 or so.
9th May is Mothers Day and many have already said they will probably not be available.
16th May is St Ives Show so again parking/ access might be an issue but this is also the date for the NSW State Titles to be held at Hills RC and traditionally no Sydney clubs run a club day on the weekend.
Leaving 23rd May as next likely club day.
Please let me know your preferences.

Oscar and I are keen for ANZAC Day in whatever format suits.
If we're struggling to find a Sunday, what about running on a Saturday instead? I don't think there are many racers with kid's sporting commitments etc.

Tree has been removed and track repaired as well as can be for now.
Plenty of the regulars have indicated they are keen to race this Anzac Sunday so we will plan to do so.
Usual look at 9am entries and get under way around 9.30am.
We will see if we can set up online entries and payment via RC Sign Up. But will let you know when this is done. We will take entries and payment on the day as well.

Saturdays are an issue for me and I know a few of the guys work Saturdays. Pretty sure most available & happy to run this coming Sunday
Cheers
Racing is still planned for tomorrow. We have confirmed that the Council is doing power upgrades to the Showground site and have disconnected power and it does not appear there will be power to the track.
So the club has arranged to hire a generator so we can run a race meeting.
Please come prepared with charged batteries and if you have some spare ones, maybe charge them up and bring them along to ensure you get a good run through the day.
We hope lots of people come along so we can cover the generator hire costs but as we wont be able to race again for 4 weeks it was thought the cost was acceptable to allow us to race.
Will look at setting up around 8.30am and getting entries/ payments sorted around 9am and try for start of race meet around 9.30am.

Reminder that there will be no racing at St Ives this coming Sunday. Many members have Mothers Day activities taking priority.
Ryde (Sydney RC) is racing the Saturday arvo/ night (if dry enough) so keep that in mind if you wish to dabble in the dirt.
Next race meet at St Ives will be Sunday 23rd May.
The NSW State Titles are on at Hills RC next weekend (15th & 16th May). Entries close this Friday so if keen, get in soon.
Additionally the St Ives Show is scheduled for the weekend of 15th and 16th so access to the track may be limited. But many other activities on around the Showground that weekend, no doubt.
Hopefully see many on the 23rd May.
