Usually start with a good guess (and we have a few people who probably have better idea re B5 set ups than me) of say a 30t pinion and then check motor temp after 5 min practise or race. If below about 75 degrees c then can probably go up a pinion tooth and repeat.

FDR for 2wd 17.5 buggy is listed as aiming for '6' so if you can calculate that it will give you good starting point. Motor might have adjustable timing as well so you can turn it up if you need bit more pace but don't have larger pinion.

Make your self known tomorrow and someone will help you out if not sure.

Cheers, Thommo
thanks Thommo, see you tomorrow

Hi,
Just a reminder there is no racing this Sunday at St Ives due to the Maitland round of the NSW Club Series.

Next race day is looking like last weekend in May.

In preparation for coming racing days (including St Ives round of Club Series on 23rd June) we will have a working bee this Sunday for those that can help out. Just 9am -12md.
Want to paint the jumps and table top, tidy up the carpet, re shape the sweeper and put the pipe in place properly.
The more people we get the quicker we can be finished and let those who might want to practise, get into it.

Bring shovels if you can as need to move some soil to get the sweeper berm looking good.

Thanks to James, John, Bob, Scott, Andrew, Gee, Glenn, Carl, Tony & Michael for giving up their time this morning to complete some track improvements.
Really appreciated and we have some more plans to come but will work through changes gradually to see how things are received and how they work for everyone.
It is hard to have a track design that caters for the beginners, stock racers, truck racers and experienced mod drivers.
Special mention to James who has put in so much work on the track the past 6 months and more.
Things are coming together slowly.
Will need a bit of support from council to complete grander plans but all in good time (we hope).

Reminder that only race day this month will be the 4th weekend in May.
Track is open to those who want to practise (except if James is working on it, and esp. if he is painting jumps etc so please be respectful).
I doubt you will get access to the Showground the 3rd weekend due to St Ives Show (you might get access but will probably have to pay entry fee).

Soo you all soon.

Quick reminder that due to the St Ives Show taking over the showground we wont be racing this coming weekend but plan to race the following weekend (4th Sunday of the month) i.e. 26th May.

Hi all,
Plan is for racing this Sunday 26th May.
Yes not a normal race day for us but first weekend in May we could.

All is subject to repairs being completed to some damage that the jumps, table top and wall ride suffered from kids/ people, probably during St Ives Show last weekend.

I am awaiting inspection and assessment of the damage by our track guru.

Will keep you updated. Thommo

So plan is for racing at St Ives tomorrow 26th May as we haven't been able to hold a race meeting so far in May.

Rego from 9am and try to get racing around 9.30.

If we get 3 people with vintage (or other) buggies or trucks with silver can motors we will run that class. It was asked about at the last meeting so willing to give it a go.
We will need to fill in between the 2 dirt jumps with some sort of temp table top as doubt they will make that distance.

Cheers, Thommo

Thanks to everyone who joined us at St Ives today. Thanks for you patience with our morning technical issue.
And a real good test for the new carpet track. Founds a few things we need to switch up.
And have checked in with James who took a car to the head. He was given the all clear by the hospital but will need to rest for a few days.
So take a rest James because we really need your skills and enthusiasm.

Well we plan to back up again this Sunday 2nd June as it is the 1st Sunday of the month.
Usual 9am rego and try to get racing by 9.30am.
Truck boys are expected to be there.
Probably wont run silver can 540 as don't think AJ will join us.
So just looking at 2wd, 4wd and Truck, broken down into stock and mod if numbers large enough.

Have to bring forward the closing of entries for the Club Series Round 1 on Sunday.
Need to close entries Friday (tomorrow) night as we are having to manually sort PayPal payments with entries and so are getting a delay in what is showing up on the Club Series entries page.

2wd stock is full with 2 reserves. We can only go to a 4th heat of 2wd stock if we don't get a 3rd heat in one or both of the mod classes. Presently holding 2wd stock to the 3 heats.

4wd stock almost full.
As is Junior stock.

Mod is the place to be.

Trying to fit everyone in who wants to race as it is great to have such a fabulous response with entries but have to keep to event guidelines and be fair across the board

Hi,

Have no idea what the above entry is about.
It appears to be a repeat of a statement I made regarding our round in 2018.
Online entries for NSW Club Series still shows Maitland entry as St Ives round entry is not open yet.

No need to panic. Will advise when 2019 CS St Ives entries open.

Entries for Round 3 of the 2019 Campbelltown Hobbies NSW Club Series at St Ives on the 23rd June, will open at 8pm Wed 5th June.

Entries may not show on the entries list for a day or 2 as we will be limiting entries to 2 per club, per heat, for the first week.
This is according to the NSW Club Series guidelines.

After the first week entries will be open to all and will be added based on entry date.

You should receive an email from PayPal confirming your entry so you will know if you have entered even if it doesn't show on the entries list for a little while.

St Ives will have to limit entries to max of 10 people per heat.
Also max of 3 heats per class.

With exception of Junior stock which we should be able to take 12 in the 1 heat allocated for the class (if necessary).

Max of 13 heats in a round.

Time will be precious as we will have limited daylight and St Ives does not have lights.

So racing is planned for this Sunday (16th) at St Ives.
Rego 9am, Racing from about 9.30am.
Looks like we should have enough runners for 540 class along with the usual classes.
540 doesn't have to be vintage buggies. It can be any with a 540 motor.
Hope to see a few options out there.
