St Ives RC Club
Hi,
Look like a few people will be around this Sunday so am planning to set up for race day. Will aim to take entries from about 9am and try to get under way from about 9.30am. If you want to run, put your name on the St Ives club website, online entries page. Last time we had a few new people wanting to run truck so if you have one, bring it along as well as your usual buggies etc.
Cheers.

Hi,
Unfortunately I am unable to confirm that we will have a race director tomorrow. Hence I cant confirm we will be holding a race meeting. I will be at the track from 9am to prep it so if anyone who has entered or was planning to come along, please feel to still do so and there could be a few people to have a practise run against. Cheers.

Thanks for the update Andrew.
Sorry for the last minute confusion. I had calls late on Sat to say that the boys who would normally run the computer, couldn't make it.
I understand that you have a long drive Dave. So had to post the situation info to allow people to make a call re attend or not.
But in the end we had a good turn out with quite a few new faces and some of the usuals and couple of Casso guys, and everyone was very patient with us struggling to get a race program up, at least until Thomas arrived to save the day.
It seemed to be a good, relaxed and enjoyable session in the end.
SCT trucks seem to be very popular with the new people just getting into the hobby and that group seemed to have a lot of laughs all day.

Summary of today by John H
It was great to see a solid turnout today with 2WD, 4WD and Short Course Truck being run.
There was some very close racing in all three classes, with a number of new members challenging the old hands and making them work hard to earn their results in 2WD and 4WD.
Short Course Trucks kept both themselves and the spectators from the Cars and Coffee meeting thoroughly entertained, and it was terrific to see these guys starting to develop their driving and begin to learn the art of racing together.
A few of the newcomers were racing ready-to-run short course trucks from Associated and Traxxas, and showed how well these models can run out of the box. A couple of builds being completed the previous night, they looked smooth. With a little fine tuning on setup to dial them in, they will be even better.
Thanks for sharing a really fun day with us and we look forward to seeing you again in a fortnight.

The next planned race day will be Sunday the 19th August.
Things are looking good for Sunday. Weather is suppose to be a bit chilly but fine. James is tending to the track in prep for some racing. Will look to take entries around 9am and start racing around 9.30am
Got a few entries in 2wd & 4wd listed which is great. Hope we get a few trucks along as well.
Good day today with Truck, 2wd & 4wd.
Nice to see young Luke D back and hope our visitors had a good day even with the lower temp and windy conditions.
By the end of the day the wind was getting too much.
Hope to see you all and more out again soon.

Hi,
In September, St Ives RC will be racing Sunday the 9th of September & Sunday the 30th September .
This is the 2nd & 5th Sundays of the month.
The reasons being that the 1st Sunday (the 2nd of September) is Fathers day and a few people might not be available.
Hence we will race the following weekend.
On the 16th of September (the 3rd Sunday of the month) there is the NSW State Titles being held at Glen Innes. We will have some people attending and would like as many people as possible to make the effort if they can to go and support the event. The track layout etc looks great.
On the 23rd of September (the 4th Sunday of the month) the Showground will be consumed by the St Ives Medieval Faire and you don't want to be near the place unless you are into that sort of thing.
Hence we will race on the 5th Sunday of the month, the 30th of September.
Hope this makes sense.
Reminders will be sent out closer to each Sunday that we will be racing.

Just reminding everyone that we will not be racing tomorrow the 2nd but plan to race the 9th of Sept instead.
So Happy Fathers day tomorrow.
Also a reminder that the entries for the State Titles at Glen Innes closes tomorrow.
St Ives has 3 members entered and I think at least 2 more are planning to go. They would always be welcoming of more.
See https://girc.com.au/ (Glen Innes Rc Off Road club) for entry page.
Cheers.

Still hoping to race tomorrow (9th Sep) but all this past days of rain has made the track pretty wet and we are not getting much sun to dry it out.
Will make a call later today.
Will make a call later today.
While the rain seems to have cleared, the track was too wet this morning to run and showers have continued all day so we will have to cancel racing for tomorrow.
I will see what we can do about setting another race day soon.
