Default -- 2006 RC 1000 (Hosted by PDNR at Penrith NSW) --

It has sneaked up on us again, but it is time for the running of the RC 1000.

This year the event is being held at Penrith, rather than Bathurst as was the case in previous year, but it is still shaping up to be another awesome event.

The event is another brain child of Penrith District Nitro Racing Inc (PDNR) who have established a reputation for organising fun and challenging events that are often outside the norm. This will be the third running of the event.

Please download an entry form below or visit www.pdnracing.org.au for details.

Here is a quick summary of some of the RC 1000 features:

- All cars must resemble a past or present Australian Touring Car or Bathurst car to receive BONUS Points. (Basically without bonus points you will not make the 161 lap A final)

- All three qualifying runs will count towards your qualifying position, not just your best, so consistency is reqarded, not just speed.

- 3 classes, Nitro Kit, Pull Start and Pro Tourer, dubbed Production, Lite and Supercar for the event!

- All classes are eligable to make the 20 car 161 A Final - The RC 1000 - which in the past has taken approx 55 minutes to complete. The top from each class automatically progress to the A final, with the remainig positions distributed proportionally to entry numbers.

Hope you can all make it, please get your entries in ASAP, we have been a bit late getting the entry forms out due to the busy the RC calendar with the Worlds etc, so please get your details in now.

Thanks to those drivers who submitted their entry forms last night at racing. I think we received about 11 so far.

Any else planning to compete is asked to post, email or fax your details ASAP so the event organisers can get an idea of numbers. If not enough entries are received, the event may not go ahead, so please don't put this off, get your entry in today!

Thanks for your cooperation.

Default AMMENDMENT TO RULES FOR LITE (Pull Start)

Just clarifying a typo on the entry form, the LITE class for pull start motors is open to any pull start as per PDNR rules on Tuesday night.

It does not need to be side exhaust as per the entry form.

Sorry for any confusion.

Roo.

Default INVITATION TO EP DRIVERS

Just wanted to extend an invitation to any EP drivers to the RC 1000. If there is enough interest there may even be a designated class...

...Just food for thought...

If you are interested please get your entries in ASAP!

Any idea as to what the layout will be? ie The long track as per Le Mans or the shorter one that was used for the interclub?

I anticipate it would be more like the Le Mans track as we need to cater for 20 cars on the track in the main final. I think a Mt Panorama theme is going to be used to keep with the spirit of the day!

Just a note for drivers attending the RC 1000. The track is being setup Friday night (06/10/06) and any help would be greatly appreciated. There will be open practice available to those who help.

An updated entrants will will be posted shortly at www.pdnracing.org.au

Would have liked to give you guys a run with the Electric car I had put together, but unfortunately the short-sighted decision of Bathurst council not to allow the event put paid to that. I work in Bathurst till about midday on saturday's and would have been able to run after work as per last year. Will have a crack at 3 hour enduro next month instead....
