Ridiculous Run Time

Ridiculous Run Time
Hi all,
I've just spent the last two days running my new XXX-CR with Novak GTB 6.5 and IB4200 cells and I'm totally blown away with the run time I get running at race pace. 15min with no drop off in speed. Now my question is, why not run buggie heats for 10min instead of five? The last time I ran electric cars it was on-road pan cars (Magic Kingdom) with the old SCR's, and you were running a fine line to get 5min full power. I have raced 1/10th and 1/8th I/C on-road and loved the 1/2 to 1hr finals, why not bring the racing timeline forward to match the battery capacity of todays cells?
Any coments...
Cheers,
Daniel

For a brushless class it would be great... i know i'd easily get 10 minutes out of my truck before the power starts to fade - and I only ever use 3600-3900 unmatched stick packs lol.
The brushed crowd might cry foul Unless they're able to get efficiencies into the 90's...

So if you only want to race 3 races all day, this maybe the answer for you. But I know heaps of racers that would rather run 5 or 6 races in a day.

The ORRCA Qld rules which apply to ORRCA sanctioned events provide for :-
Onroad
Touring Cars 540 and stock - 6 minutes, Mod 5 minutes
Offroad
6mins for the following 2wd 540, stock and mod. 4wd stock. 2wd stock truck.
4wd mod and mod truck both 5 minutes.
With onroad not many clubs follow that lead, some do.
With Offroad I think most clubs run those times.
There is very mixed feelings amongst stock touring car drivers about 6 minutes - some like it some don't.

I raced 6 min with mod 4wd in the late 80's and that was with 1200 cells.
I now race nitro for the reason that you have 10 min heats and 20 to 30 min finals. There is no reason that we should be running 5 to 6 min with 4000 plus mah batteries. Yes brushless have an edge but brushed motors can still do it. Its more skill and tatics involved (drive smoother is one) you can use a cooling fan, heatsinks and etc.
About time they move with the times just my thoughts. Don't intend to upset anybody.
