Steering Servo's
 

I just got a new transmitter... a KO Mars EX-1... but im still stuck with my stock futaba s3003 pieces of crap servo's. What would be a good servo to get that will work with my radio gear ? ? im surprised that the futaba ones work with it ..... should i get a new throttle servo aswell ? ? im looking for some reccomendations here... money is an object so i cant spend much more than 100 on a servo, but i probably will anyways.

the king of all 6v servos is the ko 2143, but the futaba 9450 is also good... a lot of guys are using the futaba 9550 (1/2 sized servo) all of these are over the $100 mark

but all is not lost, plenty of people get by with the higher end hitec servos (i cant remember the numbers but 5265 might be one!) and they are only just over $100

Did you get the Mars EX-1 R or the mars ex-1 ??

I got a hitec 5625MG servo from wings'n'things for $136

its 0.13 secs and 7.9kg/cm torque i think but its plenty for electric racing

I think i will go for the KO servo that contact suggested.. ive been looking at them and they seem good. I found one for 79 US dollars....

I run a Hitec HS625MG and for $113 (that's what was on the sticker) I think you can't get better value for gas or elec.
Anything else is probably overkill and not necessarily better. Often it's just the wank factor that appeals.

I found that hitec servo for 92 bux aud from radio models.... i think i will go with that considering the frieght on the KO from HK is a bit steep...

but i agree somewhat... it really depends on what you pay for the servo... i got my 2143's for a$140 and my 9450 for a$115, but i also have 2 x 5625 hitec's and that have been excellent in all sorts of car's and monster trucks and at the bux hard to go past

all that said ive got an old ko 702 fet that still works a treat and it cost $20 and has very similar speed and torque to the hitec's 2nd hand thats hard to beat!

As for HITEC's Servos..what a joke..
you get what you pay for..i have been through 3 metal gear high speed ones''and will never buy hitec again...Futaba is the way for man..

i would pay 140 for the KO 2143.... where can i get one for that? yeah i have heard that hitecs fail

everyone has different experiences. I've never had a hitec servo fail yet, but Futaba's have let me down a few times. At $140 I'd buy a KO servo in a flash but I dont like paying $200+ for them. Actually as Contact well knows I dont like paying anything for them!

i want to put one into my atlas so its not hanging over the edge of the chassis all teh time :)

You have gotta try the Airtronics/Sanwa hi-speed servos, never had a failure, and extremely quick when compaired to all other brands.
I swear by them, because I use them.
Not saying that other brands are as good:eek:

I found a place where i can get the KO 2143 servo shipped to my door for 160AUD or there abouts... so i will be getting that one :D
