Default 2017 NSW EP10 Off-Road Club Series

Hi All
Welcome to the 2017 NSW EP10 Off Road Club series. We have made a small number of changes from last year which we hope will create an even more competitive and enjoyable series.
Event to be run under AARCMCC rules other than changes below.
Dates:

Club Series Round 1, Castle Hill 2nd April (Change of Date)
Club Series Round 2, Maitland 28th of May
Club Series Round 3, St Ives 25th June (Date Change - 20170512)
Club Series Round 4, Ryde 30th July

Note: AARCMCC NSW State Championships to be held at Castle Hill (September)

Classes:
Junior 2wd stock
2wd Stock
2wd Modified
4wd Stock
4wd Modified
Stadium Truck
2wd SCT

Tyres are open for all classes.
As with all major meets there is no cross entering between Stock and Mod classes with the exception of the Truck Classes.
Racing format: New for 2017
Three qualifiers of 6 minutes’ duration and two mains of 8-minutes duration for ‘A” Finals, Best final to decide finishing position. B and C finals have one 8-minute final.
This new format will increase race time but reduce the number of races and should reduce time to run a meeting due to less idle time.
Heat & Final Duration Comparison
6min heats & 8min Finals
Groups Races Mins Total
A 18 16 34
B & C 18 8 26
5min heats & 5min Finals
A 15 15 30
B & C 15 10 25

Drivers briefing at 7.15am, racing to commence at 730am.

Entry fees reduced to $20 for first class and $15 for second class
No trophies will be awarded at individual rounds (except for medallions for juniors) but end of year trophies will still be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd in each class.

Maximum 2 entries per driver

Max heats

Junior stock = 1 heat
2wd stock = 3 heats
2wd mod = 2 heats
4wd stock = 2 heats
4wd mod = 3 heats
Stadium truck = 1 heat
2wd SCT = 1 heat

Note: An extra heat for one class may be added depending on demand.
Entry Process:
When entries are opened, each club will have a guaranteed 2 entries per heat for the first week, eg in 2wd stock each club has a guaranteed 6 entries available, the system won’t let people enter once that limit has been reached. After 1 week, entries will be opened up for anyone to enter.

Points System: will stay the same as it was last year using the MotoGP method,
1st 25 points
2nd 20 points
3rd 16 points
4th 13 points
5th 11 points
6th 10 points
7th 9 points
8th 8 points
9th 7 points
10th 6 points
11th 5 points
12th 4 points
13th 3 points
14th 2 points
15th 1 point

Online entries all year are done at http://nswclubseries.com/ and as always we thank Thomas (Bugle) for all his work in helping each club with the entries and the paypal system and the website.
Control Motors for Stock will not be implemented for this year’s club series but with State & National titles using the Muchmore Fleta 17.5 Zero Timing Motor then it may be advantageous to use one anyway.

Good luck in 2017
Cheers Jeff

Really like the new format.

My only suggestion for next time would be that the juniors get 2 heats and maybe even 2 finals of some kind, not sure about other parents but ill be hard pressed to get my 8 year old out for the day for x1 race in the morning and x1 in the afternoon.

Clearly this day is not all about the juniors but just trying to provide some honest feedback.

Cheers

I think you might have misunderstood something here Nat. Or I have misunderstood your concern?

Juniors will be limited to 1 race group of 10 (1 heat - Juniors).
They will get 3 qualifiers of 6 mins.
And as they will be an automatic 'A' final they will get 2 finals.
So they should get 5 races in the day (3 x 6min, 2 x 8min).

Let me know if we can clarify further.

Cheers,
Thommo

Hi All,

Race Dates have been updated, thanks to the members of Castle Hill to facilitate a change in date. There was a clash with the Proline GAS Series round 1 at Manning Valley.

Revised Schedule below:

Club Series Round 1, Castle Hill 2nd April
Club Series Round 2, Maitland 14th of May
Club Series Round 3, St Ives 18th June
Club Series Round 4, Ryde 30th July

Cheers Jeff

Hi Nick,

Yes we know it is Mothers Day, it is just that the schedule is so congested we have to live with this day.

Cheers Jeff

I really enjoyed attending all rounds of the club series for the first time last year.

But im only a C finals driver.

Doesn't seem worth it for the whole day of qualifiers and waiting only to have one race.

I want to race.
