Default 2017 1/8th Proline Offroad Grand Prix Club Series

Proline, HEI and Northern Beaches Hobby Centre in association with Illawarra, Canberra, Liverpool, Maitland and Taree Radio Control Car Clubs are thrilled to announce the fifth year for the NSW and the ACT's premier interclub series for 1/8th nitro and EP offroad. The Pro-Line GP Interclub Series puts the best Clubs and Drivers in the State and Territory against each other in a series of one day meetings (practice the day before).

The competition features both Buggy (IC and EP) and Truggy (IC/EP Combined). The series is open to all formally organised RC clubs in NSW and the ACT, not just the host clubs (Interstate and International competitors compete for a Barbarians team). The same Pro-Line control tyres will be used at each round to ensure a level playing field and bring the costs down for competitors. Entry fees for each round are reasonably priced at $25 1st class, $15 2nd class.

Full rules details including the championship points system, tyres and tyre pricing, etc. can be found in the attached pdf. Stay tuned for more details, and for announcements of how to enter each round in the coming months.

Notable change to this years line up ..... EP Truggy will be combined with IC, 7minute heats and finals.

HUGE Thanks to the organisers, officials, clubs, competitors and sponsors .... without your continued support these events would not be possible.

The part number for the Truggy tyres is for M3 not X3. Which is it supposed to be, X3?

Sorry guys there was a typo on the Truggy tyres, PR9046-033 is the correct number.

Couple of additions to this years rules to take not of.

Points discretion must be put forward within a week of the points being updated.

Tyres - Rims & Inserts, the last couple of years some drivers have been using different rims etc, we will be enforcing the Proline Tyre, Rim and Insert Rule. For drivers that wish to purchase their own we have included the part numbers on the form in the first post.

Regarding dates - We had contacted all clubs mid December 2016 regarding dates, trying to get in first and finalized... It has taken 3 months to finalize due to some very slow responses and many changes. Unfortunately at this stage we will be running with what is already set.

Are you able to confirm if any of the tires to be sold at events this year are from the early 2016 batch that is known to have tearing issues? It was quite a sore point for many competitors in 2016.

All early 2016 stock was sold months ago (approx May 2016), the last two rounds had next to no issues. Of coarse hard to tell if someone was running an older purchased tyre.

We still get the odd one here or there, mainly Truggy but certainly much better after we complained.

Of coarse you can purchase unmounted Tyres and glue yourself, just make sure they are on Proline Inserts and Rims.

We also suggest checking the tyre before running them, that way "if" they do come off you can re-glue without all the dirt stuck in the bead.

No - I was referring to the batch that was physically tearing at the sidewall, presenting similar to an unglued tire but with bonded rubber left around the edge of the rim. Good to know those are long gone.

Looking forward to another year of awesome racing and CORMCC domination!
