2017 NBHC & RC Hobbyland EP OFR Sat Night Race Series Feb & Mar 2017 @ Ryde & St Ives

Hi all,

NBHC & RC Hobbyland along with Sydney RC CC & St Ives RC CC bring you a Saturday afternoon/ night race series to start the year.
It will be 4 rounds with 2 race events held at each club.

Dates:
4th Feb 2017 (Ryde)
18th Feb 2017 (St Ives)
4th Mar 2017 (Ryde)
18th Mar 2017 (St Ives)

Each race evening time will be 3pm - 8pm.

Classes will be:
2wd stock
2wd mod
4wd stock
4wd mod

-no cross entering between stock and mod at a round.

*stock is any ROAR approved 17.5. This is not a control motor event
*tyre choice is open

(at discretion of clubs holding each event, and depending on entries, we hope to have a Novice/ Juniors class as well but this class will not be eligible for prizes. It is more to give younger drivers an opportunity to run and allow new members to come along and participate).

As it is a Drivers series, points will be awarded for each round and a drivers best 3 results out of 4 (in each class) will go towards series prizes.

*drivers who are members of clubs other than St Ives & Ryde are also more than welcome to enter

Prizes:
Vouchers from NBHC & RC Hobbyland will be awarded for the top 5 drivers for each of the 4 indicated classes at the end of the series. These vouchers will be able to be spent in-store at either NBHC (Dee Why) or RC Hobbyland (Castlehill).

1st: $100 voucher
2nd: $60 voucher
3rd: $40 voucher
4th: $20 voucher
5th: $20 voucher

Race Format:
2 x 6 min qualifiers (best result counts)
2 x 8 min finals (best one counts)

Yes the format is different to try to allow us to give competitors a bit more track time.

Entries will be via each clubs web page online log in, prior to each round.

Entry fee will be $10 per class.

Entries may need to be capped as 7-8 races in a round, will be the max manageable for each event conduct 2 qualifiers and 2 finals and still finish in the scheduled time (before it gets too dark). Lights can be used at each venue if need be but plan is to try to get everyone home at reasonable time.

Both Ryde & St Ives are planning new layouts prior to the commencement of the Series.

Cheers,
Thommo

Sounds good!

Is stock a control motor? If so what is it and were can we get them?

Stock motor is any 17.5t motor on the roar approved motors list (same as we have used for years at all club events).
There is no control tyre.

Cheers,
Grant M.

Does it matter what club we are from?

It doesn't matter what club you are from, all are welcome!
The idea is to have some fun and switch up the format a bit.

I might have to dust off the old YZ-2 for this.

Are we able to practice before racing begins?
Thanks

Roman 01-15-2017 03:34 AM

I'm sure there would be no problem with arriving early in the day to practice at either venue.

Roman 01-26-2017 12:52 AM

Entries are now open for round 1 at Ryde.

Junior Class

Hi Guys,

Just entered myself and my son. If you get enough numbers for Junior, would be great if Isaac could run in that Class. if not, all good and he can mix it with the big boys.

Roman 01-29-2017 08:32 PM

No worries David, if we get enough entries I'll open up a novice/junior class on the day.

Nat Maniac 01-29-2017 11:07 PM

I've entered Lucas (another junior)
