We are now getting closer to the first 2017 IC State Championship at Melbourne Lilydale.
Please get your registrations completed on MyRCM and payment will be due shortly.

Late fees will apply if payment has not been made by Monday 23rd January.
This will be a great event and the chance to race with some quick guys including
our own Jesse Davis.

If you need to book accommodation, please call the Lilydale motor in on (03) 9739 3900.
Tell them you are part of the Model Car Club and they will apply a 10% discount.

There has been some discussion with interstate drivers requesting the track be open from
Thursday at 12pm for some extra practice. Generally people driving down from neighbouring states Sydney,
South Australia, ACT arrive at Lilydale at noon.

I agree that this is the case and the updated schedule will include this for future voting.

However we can't change this for the VIC titles unless we get support from all
competitors whom have entered as this was announced at the start of the post.

There are competitors whom made travel plans to be on track on Friday only.
If we get 100% agreement prior to the start of official practice we can accommodate,
for this request.

Qualifying will still be run on Saturday & Final on Sunday.

Please provide your feedback.

Tim I think it would be great if the interstate is could have half a day on the Thursday I Iam bringing my son over to race nitro there for the first time it will be extremely daunting for him with 37 other cars on the track for the first time and not fair on the other competitors just my 2 cents worth

Matt i do understand i think that for the interstate guys and the guys who dont or cant do club days because of work or weekend commitments Thursday is super important. If this is the first time you have been to the track as is for your boy running ic from large scale track time is the key and that half day Thursday will make a big difference for these guys and there event. Also i think that most if not all guys that are travelling will be there on Thursday at some time and would love a little track time just to get settled in and get the hang of our awesome track .

cant wait to see you all in a couple of weeks Nick Salib

Hi,

I can see both sides.
So for people that planned everything around the three day event, do you offer some time set aside on Friday for their own practice?

Cheers,

Steve Wesley

Hi Guys,

Personally, I think it would be great to have the track open on the Thursday, especially for the interstate drivers and especially any new drivers who would really benefit from getting track time without the entire field of cars on the track at the same time (which could happen if the track was only open on Friday). I think the majority of drivers will be there on Thursday anyway, and would like to be able to get track time if the club is able to make it available.

Outside of my own personal interests in wanting to be on the track on Thursday, there may be other drivers who have already made plans around the original schedule, but hopefully they have the chance to chat to you guys about that, and it can be worked out.

I think it's super important though that the remainder of the race schedule for the weekend stays the same, and that if the track is open for practice on Thursday, that qualifying does not start any earlier then what had been originally proposed in the initial Vic state titles announcement (ie. Qualifying to start no earlier then Saturday).

Looking forward to seeing all you guys,

Ricky K

Just a thought, if Friday is fully rained out then you would have to allow all of Saturday for practice which the rules state minimum one day practice? Which then means you would have to run all qualifiers and finals on Sunday?

Friday is still practice - We will not start qualifying till Saturday.
The plan was to open the track from Thursday at 12pm if we get everyone to agree.

We don't have rain days anymore, so qualifying will need to be started on Saturday. A state delegate meeting will need to be called and perhaps qualifying
is shorten a few rounds to allow some practice on Saturday.

I know we don't have rain days anymore but if Friday is fully rained out you can't just go straight into qualifying Saturday morning without any practice

Hey guys
I find it hard to get to the track now due to family commitments and working on weekends. Shortening of these meetings is ridiculous as they are already short enough. For myself who only races at major meetings now I need as much track time to prepare my cars as possible. Shortening the meetings isn't going to increase numbers in my opinion. I'm all for the tracks being open whenever as we are trying to encourage people to use the tracks not restrict them. Just my two cents.
