Default 2015 ACE R/C Models AARCMCC WA EP10 Off-Road State Titles @ WCMRC APRIL 17-19

Calling all EP10 Off-Road Racers!

West Coast Model RC is proud to announce we will be hosting the 2015 AARCMCC WA EP10 off-Road State Titles, presented by Ace RC Models!

The event will be held over 3 days April 17-19 on our BRAND NEW, NATURAL CLAY surface and layout!

Proudly Sponsored by:

The track will be in primo condition for your racing pleasure, we will work on the track throughout the weekend to develop a nice consistent groove to create good racing, this means watering - NO SUGAR! we will have routine breaks throughout the practice day to water the track, and water regularly over the course of the weekend to keep the track in great shape. Tire wear should be a minimum, we will update you on expected tire wear in coming weeks as we get experience on the new surface with the control tires (mainly buggy)

We are hosting a warmup event on Saturday April 11, 2Q & 3F format, gates open 7am, nominations from 8am and racing to start from 9am. This will help everyone get a good idea for the grip and track conditions during the heat of the day, plus give the club a good idea of how often water will need to be applied to the track.

Timing will be done using LiveTime RC scoring system, and we will be broadcasting live streaming on the lifestream website and mobile app all weekend, for all of you who witnessed the 1/8 nitro off road nationals, you know how great the coverage will be!

Race announcing will be going all across the weekend, including a race director and race referee keeping an eye on things happening across the entire weekend to make sure things are kept in order

On Saturday and Sunday, we will be running the canteen, with burgers available for $5 each, drinks for $2 each and chocolates for $2 each available all weekend. On Friday only drinks and chocolates will be available.

Trophies will be provided for the following:
2WD & 4WD Concourse
Top Junior
TQ for each class

Chris you may need to edit the control tyre bit, 2wd sct has a control tyre for front and rear,(I think its meant to be 4wd sct) then below it states that 2wd sct front tyre is open, as it should be.

Mod Stadium Truck with open tyre *drool*. This is such a great flowing track and so much fun in Stadium Truck. Lets at least get a full field this year!

No probs, except one, now there is no mention of 4WD SCT control tyre, does this mean 4WD SCT has no control tyre at all?

Is watering during the event allowed? Itís not a 1/8th event.

We witnessed only recently the variation in lap times from one heat to the next when the track was watered during practice at the Canberra nationals.

Personally, Iím a not for any watering of the track during an event, especially when it may not even be necessary. I would prefer to run a track which evolves over the day. At least you know what the traction level will be like from round to round. Running on a track that has just been watered is just forcing you to make adjusts to your car which you normally wouldnít be making if the track was dry. If the track canít hold together for a race meet, then the wrong soil was selected for the rebuild. Enough said from me on this subject. Time will tell.

If watering is done, will it be done on the one practice day.

Come onÖ.. a practice event starting Saturday morning. What has happened to the tradition Saturday lunchtime start time?

good point boz on the watering issue but I think you will find this would possibly negate it

3.3.2 Track repairs should be made between heats as needed. This should prevent "extreme" deterioration of the racing surface throughout the event. Once again, if a schedule is set up for regular maintenance it should be staggered so that all drivers enjoy any advantage or disadvantage such maintenance may offer. Attention to jumps as well as turns and straight sections, is equally important.

4WD SCT is open tire, as it always has been

yes, we will be watering the track, and yes...it is necessary.
once we have a good idea of the level of deterioration, we will work out how frequent we should need to stop and water, we will make sure its staggered appropriately so nobody has a clear advantage with slightly varying track conditions, watering will also be carried out on friday during practice.

this clay dries out very quickly, and its absolutely at its best when theres water on it, it will develop a groove nicely and should provide some great close racing!
without water it will go south just like any natural clay track

Would like to make it... but a months notice is crazy. Im pretty sure there is a rule about 3 months notice....

New layout looks fun, hope you guys have a good event.

Ill be in Perth the weekend afterwards for the long weekend (family wedding) and if the planets align Ill drop past the track on the Friday club night and say hello.

Ray

BTW the Vics are 1st weekend of June (as announced on the Vic calendar in December) at Mildura. Unfortunately FEMCA in Perth now clashes with it, but would be great to see some of you there.

Hey Ray, couldn't agree more, in an ideal world dates would be out a minimum of 6-9 months before, considering were based in the West and probably cover more KM than if we were east coast based getting the dates early and being able to get cheaper airline tickets makes a big difference to the bill at the end of the day.

I understand in an ideal world it would be best to get info up for the event the full 3 months in advance to give people time to organise themselves...which was the target. Unfortunately things didn't turn out this way and we are a little late getting info up and entries open for the event. As such we apologise to those who need to travel if this rendered them unable to compete, or places unnecessary stress if they try.

As for the VICs, I'll be trying to get there myself to have a run, unsure of how many others as they'll mostly be attending FEMCA...

i have just added the additional class of 2WD Junior stock, for drivers under the age of 16. We have doubts we will get enough numbers but we will run the class alongside the normal 2WD Stock class and have an extra set of trophies regardless even if numbers are low. Updated Entry form coming soon...Get your nominations in!
