Default OFFICIAL 1/8TH IC 2015 Offroad Australian titles WA 19th-22nd March

MORBC will be holding the IC 1/8th Australian Titles from the 19th-22nd of March 2015.
Here is the entry:
http://www.morbc.org.au/Stage25/index.php/nats2015
You will have to pay either paypal or Credit card to get your entry accepted.
Any Questions or not sure don't be afraid to PM ,but entry is pretty straight forward.

The proposed schedule will be;
Thursday 3 rounds of practice 1 Qualifier 9.00am - 8.30pm
Friday 4 rounds of qualifying 9.00am - 8.30pm
Saturday all Truggy Finals and some lower buggy finals 8.30am - 4.30pm
Sunday buggy finals from the 1/16th 8.30am - 4.30pm
Proposed finish time is 4.30pm Sunday
pending on entries

We are trying to make the trip as cheap as we can, we have organised some bulk accommodation at the BIG 4 Holiday Park (www.aspenparks.com.au) which is located 10-15mins from the track and the same distance from pubs and eateries. Cabins sleep 2-5 people and are $189 (standard price). We have arranged a bulk discount, which is up to 20%. If we can book out 15 rooms or more we can get substantial savings.

Along with this the club will be hiring 2 x mini vans (more if needed) to transport you, too and from the track, saving you guys from hiring a car. We will be looking at making a couple of you drivers of these vehicles so you can use them at night time for dinner ect.
We will also be doing Airport pickups and drop offs (e.g pick ups at 1pm , 3pm and 7pm)

what we need from you to make this work-

WE NEED TO KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE WOULD BE INTERESTED AND HOW MANY ROOMS YOU WOULD NEED. if you guys could pm me or leave a comment here saying you are interested with how many people there are and how many rooms you would need.
we need to give final numbers by November and deposits in December to confirm these bookings. They have asked for a $50 deposit to hold the room with the final payment being made in February.
At the moment i need to make a tentative booking for the rooms, so idea on numbers would be great.

NATIONAL WILL BE HERE BEFORE YOU KNOW IT.

hi phill and anyone else interested , we have reserved a dozen cabins at the above big 4 caravan park, if you would like one of these cabins all you have to do is ring them on 1800 679 992 tell them you are with the model offroad buggy club, there are cabins with 4 bed and 3 beds , 4 bed is 3 bedroom for $202 per night and the 3 bed with 2 bedrooms is $171 per night
confirmation and deposits need to be payed sometime in december.

there is not alot of accomodation close to the track so i would suggest to get in early,

vans and airport pickups will be organised closer to the date.

Default Track Rebuild

Well work began today for our track rebuild new clay brought in and mixed in with the old clay. Thanks to the big machines it makes life a lot easer.
Thanks to Craig Laughton, Peter Barry and Josh Barry for operating the machines today.

If you look carefully at the above photo's in siltex01's post you will see 2 different colours of clay. Light stuff that the track surface was originally made of and the new dark red stuff. The new surface will be a blend of the 2.

We probably won't be running on the new surface until early next year and it will take a couple of race meets to bed in. Our experience with tyre wear on the old clay is vastly different depending on the moisture level of the track. If the track is heavy with lots of moisture tyre wear is non existant (M3 or Soft compounds) If the track is drying out with small amounts water left (Enough moisture to keep the dust down) then tyre wear goes up, but you could still do 4+ rounds of qualifying on the same set and still have plenty left. If the track does dry out a 40 minute A main could kill a set of M3's or soft compound tyres in that time.

As previously stated until the new surface beds in and people are able to do some runs on it tyre wear will be unknown.

We have taken 15+ car sets to each of the last Nats (Qld and Vic) and brought 12 sets home!!!!!!

Probably later in January or early Feb we will be able to give all a better idea of tyre wear.

here is our story, we have purchased 320 tone of extra clay 3 weeks ago we moved to clay inside our fenced area with some large machines, the clay is a little different to what we have originally so we have mixed it through with a 30t excavator, today we built a track that will last us till 3 weeks before the Nationals , this track consists of a few ideas of what we want to use for nationals track, but just simpler form.

the surface might be a little different for tyre wear ect we will keep you informed how it goes.

we will post a video after our club day next weekend

we will be doing a complete track rebuild 3 weeks before the nationls this will have 1 club day on it to settle the surface then Nationals time.

Rome wasnt built in a day but this track was :-)

Default Re: Nom list

Hi guys,

Just wondering if there is a list of all those who have nominated/paid going up? Going to be out of the country for a while, and just want to make sure that everything is locked in. I have booked flights and accommodation already and just wanting to verify that my nomination has been received. Thanks.
