Good work guys on getting this up and running early.

If it is not yet set in stone is there any chance of selecting a control tyre for truck? I don't mind what it is, it is just easier for those travelling to pack a control tyre to run and practise with at the ORRCA event.

I totally understand if its not worth the hassle or extra work that goes into a control tyre selection.

What direction will the track be run?

Cheers

John

mmmm should I go to this???????? I will if Jody Denner goes.. always a laugh.... NO cookies!!!!!!!!!

tc4wally 08-01-2013 04:45 AM

hi John.

The direction is still being played with as we have made some changes and need to figure out which way works best. Plenty of notice will be given on the direction and some pics when the time is right.

Truck tyre choice is 95% set as an open product choice unless aka come out with something that becomes available very quickly and of course works.

Unfortunately I cant make this one (best man at a wedding in Perth the same weekend). Should be a great event on a fantastic track as usual.

Dont quite understand truck being open tyre though - if it is run at an AARCMCC event (which mandates control tyres in truck) then if AKA cant supply another tyre surely a different brand can be used for that class??

Scotty G 08-03-2013 02:43 AM

Just a thought, but if your trying to satisfy the naming rights sponsor of the event, AND make it a known thing in terms of taking just one truck tyre to the event, why not test something like the JC barcode in blue WITH an AKA closed cell truck insert? Racers get a tyre to take without taking the kitchen sink, and RCRS/AKA still get in on the act... Like i said, it will require someone to test it and for it to be a viable combo, but its a thought.

Damn, I'm going to miss this.

I think riding a motorbike from Saigon to Hanoi in Vietnam will be more fun. ;)

Tom87 08-03-2013 09:33 PM

What about trucks just holeshot or double dee's? Should work if the other tire is aka impact.

OldSkool 08-04-2013 12:31 AM

Due to no AKA truck tyre (yet), why don't the "sponsored" drivers get onto there contacts and see if they would like to put in a tender to the Wodonga club for consideration. Put forth an offer...
I'm sure there's a few companies out they that would love some positive exposure.
If its left as an open tyre, just remember the Wodonga track is always in top shape when the big races are on.
So if you use say last years mod truck tyre (ask around), you'd be pretty close to the "dialled" tyre.

The track is red clay, watered and swept....usually blue groves with enough traffic.
Just show up, and enjoy the weekend.

Truck tyres

As pre the Tassie state titles, this club has seeked and got approval from AARCMCC to have an open tyre for truck.
As was proven at this years nats, any AARCMCCC rule can be over ruled with approval from AARCMCC.

Tom87 08-05-2013 03:40 AM

So this is a AARCMCC sanctioned event? And will it be for example, 2wd Saturday and 4wd Sunday? Or are they run together over the 2 days?

Thanks for clarifying.

I don't see AKA in the naming rights for this meeting just RC Race Supplies so any tyre should be able to be selected for truck.

2wd and 4wd are run on seperate days, format details to be released soon.

Hey guys, is there a thread or info for the Wodonga drivers series race yet?
Be good to get in early and get there for some Vics practice :-)
