Looking forward to this, any announcement yet on control tyres?
|
No official announcement yet on tyres. I know there is an off road sub committee meeting on 1 July - hopefully some news can be disseminated soon thereafter.
|
i heard Tod and Painy the other week, just a quick one about tyres for "States" unsure if it was another states event or wa states, but i heard Soft Rebars?
not sure if they went up in compound from last years super soft because you could only get 2 runs from a brand new set or another reason |
well i hope that they dont sugar the track like last year
lets make it a offroad event instead of an onroad track with jumps !! |
We race off road in which we are always looking for more grip, they give you a track with grip and you moan, I don't get it:confused:

And lots of bald tyres :)

I heard that there will be a spot on the entry form where you can order sugar.
This way you mix up your own sugarwater and apply to the tire. I'm happy with a natural track. If the track was as bad as Mildura prior to the Nats, then I would say yes to applying the sugar. Our track surface hold together very well and traction is high during the day. My view: If the club wants to go down the path of applying sugar at all major meets then consider increase the entry fee to cover the cost of the sugar and apply it the day before practice starts for the event. This way no one can complain about having an advantage. At the end of the day...... Maybe a different tire should of been considered if it only works on a specialized surfaces? Maybe this sugar treatment are here to stay? Do AARCMCC need to enforce a rule on when sugar should be used? Will the results at the end of event be different if the track was sugared or not? Why should we sugar when we may not need too? Why do we need to apply anything to the surface anyway? |
I have heard wat the buggy tyre is and i don't think it would be the best tyre on an un treated surface. Mega high grip tracks are my least favourite part of the hobby (need to proof read). I think the problem stems from wrong selections in the past when the chosen tyre provided little grip and high wear, so the clubs are now opting for the reliable option of picking a tyre for a gripped up surface then applying treatment if the track isn't up to scratch close to the time

:DJust lay Astro on it
|
That’s probably the big question leading up to the states.
When will the decision be made if treatment to the track surface is required or has that decision already been made? |
