2013 Castle Hill Vintage EOFYS 300 (enduro)
2013 Castle Hill EOFYS Vintage 300 – 30/06/2013
Hi everyone
Castle Hill is proud to announce it will be hosting a 5 hour vintage enduro on June 30, so get those calculators out and start claiming those deductions early!!
The committee has come together, we have been listening to feedback from the enthusiasts and have tweaked a few things in order to make the event a bit more accessible and to align ourselves closer with Victorian rules to encourage interstate entries as there will be events in Victoria this year, it will be easier if the same cars are vintage legal across both states.
Vintage buggy: cut off has now been moved to any buggy on sale up to the end of 1991. This allows the inclusion of such vehicles as Traxxas Trx1, Tamiya Bear Hawk and Top Force. Please see attached list of eligible buggies and please pm me if there’s a buggy that should be included that hasn’t been
Details
5 hours non stop, 1 car per team, 3 or 4 drivers per team, team must have a marshal in their allocated spot at all times
Eligibility.
2wd and 4wd Vintage vehicles allowed, 540 motor will be handed out on the morning of the race
Please see Castle Hill eligible vehicle list to confirm if your car is eligible. The aim though is that the geometry of the vehicle isn’t changed, so in the case of the cougar 2 works, the 1992 car had different suspension geometry compared to the car available in 1991 so you couldn’t run a bunch of cougar 2 works parts on your car, however if the geometry of an arm is the same as the 1991 release, but its just a stronger part, then they will be allowed. In the case of the DF01 where they just kept releasing it as a new car every few years, all variants are legal however we ask you to run a manta ray body so the cars look period correct on the track, in that way the car will be deemed to be a re-release model which are legal
Lipo legal – max capacity 6000mah, hard case 2s lipo only, Sub C cells are also legal, 7.2v maximum and battery must be available commercially
Maximum 12 teams allowed so get your entries in fast, once your filled in entry form is received and payment has hit the bank account, your entry will be confirmed
Location: Castle Hill Off Road club, Field 4, Fred Caterson Reserve off Gilbert Rd
Race Length: 5 hours (300 minutes)
Date: 30th June 2013
Drivers meeting at 8:30am, motors will be handed out randomly
Qualifying: There will be a 15 minute open qualifying session starting at 915am. Top qualifier will get first choice of marshalling position and so on down the list. Grid will be in reverse order of qualifying results
Race starts at 10am
Entry Fee per team is $80, this is definitely worth it for the track time you get, plus the fee includes the handout motor
Lap counting will be done using the AMB transponder system, each car will need its own personal transponder in it as the club ones are unlikely to last the race distance (will advise if MRT transponders will not work closer to the date)
GENERAL ENDURO RULES:
Teams: Teams must consist of 3 or 4 members. All team members must drive for a minimum of 30 minutes during the race and a maximum of 2 battery stints in a row. A breach of either of these criteria will result in a demotion to last place at the end of the race.
Spare motors will be available on the day at a price of $30 each and a 20 lap penalty. In the last 3 years we’ve never had a motor blow up so it’s easy enough to gear them correctly
Each team must have a marshal at their nominated marshalling position at all times. Failure to have a marshal present will result in a 5 lap penalty for each occurrence (You'll get one warning)
Wheels and Tyres, modern wheels and tyres are acceptable for the event
Weight limit: We’ll follow modern weight limits as current limits are for vehicles with lipo batteries
2wd Weight limit is 1500 grams
4wd Weight limit is 1600 grams
Weights will be checked prior to the race
DRIVING STANDARDS:
Everyone understands that these cars are fragile and have to travel a long distance so when a faster car is approaching its asked that you give them a little room to go on by, then you can tuck in behind and follow their lines and see where they’re a little quicker

Its alright Luis. I know enduros aren't your cup of tea. This might be more up your alley. http://www.rctech.net/forum/australi...t-21-22-a.html 5 minute racing. 3 qualifiers, 3 A finals. It'd be great to have you there!

Baggz is on it!!
Lets start getting the teams listed up here guys, post your team, car and drivers and we'll start putting a list together. As long as we have 6 teams by the end of May, the race will go ahead! That way i've got enough time to organise trophies etc
the word on the street is Warner is going to be first in line to pick up a Fox re-re so he can run it at the enduro
Also anyone who is interested in driving in a team at the enduro, please post up here and we can pair you up with a team, theres a couple of guys with great cars who dont have 2 or 3 contacts to form a team
Cheers
