Default Date

Paul,

the latest ORRCA Vic calendar showed the Knox Cup on the 18th March (I saw v1 had the 4th March). Is the 4th march the final date?

Ill be running 2w mod and 4w mod in any case, but need to have the correct date in 'the calendar' at home

Due to some confusion within the comittee and a clash with the Aus F1 GP, the "original" date of the 4th is correct. Hope this clears things up. Looking forward to it

Why has 4 WD 540 been deleted. I was under the impression that if we are to attract new people we need all lower classes. A suggestion would be to add it into the entry list and if you do not get enough entries then delete the class.

With SCT bursting at the seams, something had to be dropped to make room in the day. As usual, the choice is always a hard one and due to the low numbers, this was the chosen class. 2wd 540 has been kept to keep the interest in the lower classes.

Sorry for being negative but was it a club or ORCCA decision to drop the 4wd 540 class? If the other rounds run the class it effects the series. Was the discussion ever held about moving to 2 day events with 2 rounds of qualifying on Saturday so there are no dropped classes?

Will this be another series with fluctuating rules and each club deciding the fate of classes or will there be the same rules and structure for all 4/5 rounds?

Is there a full calendar available yet? Where would one get/see one?

A new thread has been created for the 2012 ORRCA drivers series and I have attached a copy of the Calendar to the first post.

I have included in this thread a copy of the minutes from the last ORRCA meeting that describe the classes and rules for the drivers series. From reading the minutes it looks like it is ORRCAs intention to ensure that a consistent set of classes are run at each round of the series.

As PK just said, this is for ALL of the drivers series, not just the Knox Cup.

The Coleman Cup and the Vic Titles will still include the class as they are both muti-day events and the time is there for such...unless I'm mistaken!

Default 540 4WD

As one of the only three drivers that ran 540 4WD in more than one round in the drivers series last season, and with only one other meeting that had other entries I can understand why the class will not be offered this year. In fact all the entries came from members of one club and the class is not offered at most club rounds.

2WD 540 still mantains a reasonable spread of entries across all rounds, and I hope will still be run for years to come.

When the brushless equivelent for 540 is decided, and made available maybe we will see a larger demand for 2wd and 4wd in that class.

So as one of the very few drivers affected by this change I totally understand and accept the need for the change.
