Exclamation South East Queensland Off-road Interclub Challenge 2010

Hi all I am again on the rampage of trying to organise a Interclub Challenge in South East Queensland for 1/8 Off-road Nitro. I am looking for some input from you guys, the racers and club officials, should each event be just 1 day or 2 days, should we run a standard AARCMCC style qualifying and finals or do we run a different format for each event, how can we make the points system fair for both large and small clubs, also can this be and individual event too crown a Southeast Queensland Champion. Interested persons or clubs contact me via rctech, or just post your ideas on here and lets see what can be done ok....

Cheers Karl

You could let as many from each club enter but only top 2 spots from each club count towars interclub challange then you can have team event and individual at each club run it over a year and have 2 meets at each club just som ideas from a bloody victorian

Well Done Karl
I know this has been talked about in the past, and this is long overdue.
However it is set up, it can only be a good thing for offroad r.c in S.E.Q.
I think the single most important thing is, that all participating clubs work together and work out a calendar for this series,
and agree that there are no other racing at other clubs on interclub race days.
I think ol mate is on the right track, ie; only top 2-5 drivers score points for there club.
I think there should be individual points also to encourage as many racers as possible to attend all tracks for the series.

Hope this gets up and running.
Looking forward to it.

I think this would be a great idea! There is enough clubs in SEQ to do it and I think that it would be great for the sport. I like the idea of it counting towards some sort of SEQ Championship also..... I personally prefer 1 day meetings as it's easier for me to arrange a leave pass!! As for the format, I think 2-3 rounds of Qual is enough, top 8 go straight into the final, and 4-6 bump into the final from the B etc. Just like they did at the Gold Coast race, I think that worked great..... I hate the whole semi thing, coz you can TQ but still miss the final, no reward at all for TQ'ing. Just my thoughts, but I think that it's a great idea. Bring it on!! DP.

just a few points for thought
  1. what classes to run ??? 1/8th electric, MT, Stadium truck
  2. race format needs to be consistant
  3. points score system
  4. Calendar
  5. Trophy ??? one perpetual , individual attendance trinket
  6. 1 class per driver per day
  7. cut off age for juniors
  8. series sponsor signage and trackside vendors / sales
  9. series web site
  10. series Committee and administration
these are my veiws and not the veiws of logan Off road

Maybe it also counts towards a drivers championship
Split buggy and truggy into pro and sport so less experienced drivers results count for their club and also towards the class champion
2 to 3 races at each club for the year with 1 x 2 day event and 1 to 2 x 1 day event or the other way around to count .
Just my thoughts

Exclamation Alright !!!!!

Ok so we have some ideas rolling in, that's great what we now is to organise a face to face meeting between the clubs and drivers that wish to be involved that includes those better than average drivers(that u never see at working bees or club meetings lol). So I propose that we have a meeting at the Meakin Masters on the Saturday after racing, does this sound good with u all?

Karl

1. Buggy and Truggy
2. Slyfox - Rockert Round ABC final formatt - with bump ups
3. A large part of the points should be based on attendence rather who is just the best driver/s
4. Spread over a 9 month period from say March to October - 2 day event no other club racing the same weekend
5. Club only
6. No reason why you can't race more than 1 class points should be based on number of people from each club not how many classses you race
7. I think most clubs work on 16 don't they?
8. Sponsors would be nice....... I am sure we could get something happening
9. Series website would be nice but maybe a to bigger bite intitally
10. Say 2 from each club.

It all sounds good , will see you all at the masters
The only problem we have is we would only have about 1 buggy entry and 3 to 4 truggies max
We love the idea of being involved and people racing at our track but wouldn't be able to compete for anything

these are my views and not the views of logan Off road
1. Maybe keep it simple 1/8 buggy and truggy nitro
2. This would really come down whether its a 1 or 2 day event
3. I like the idea of only the top 2 or 3 from each club getting the points in each class this will keep it close and won't disadvantage smaller clubs
4. Maybe run one 2 day event and one 1 day event per club over the racing year
5. Definitely a club trophy, Pro trophies and sportsman trophies and junior awards
6. Agree 1 driver1 car
7. Yes we will need good sponsors
8. Would be nice
9. 2 from each club should be enough

Just my 2cents

Would be good if there was another way to allocate points as those who aren't consistently the top 2 or 3 don't receive much motivation to participate & put the effort in for their club. Another way might be if for example Club A only has 5 drivers while Clubs B and C have 10 then the top 3 counted for main points haul and the rest of the results for all other drivers were somehow averaged to give an additional score which was added to the clubs overall result. That way everyones efforts would be recognised.

we need to make it attractive to everyone not just the fast guys who are always in the A-mains.

1. 1/8th Buffy & Truggy only - its the only consistent classes between clubs
2. i would like to see it be a 2day event format so that it is something more than just a club day
3. maybe a segregation of drivers would have to be made...anyone with any form of sponsorship would be classed as a pro, other as sportsman
4. 4 race meets though the year for the series
5. One major trophy for winning club. Entry trinkets to drivers who have participated through the season
6. agree
7. Would we need a cuttof age for juniors if they are segregated (see point3)
8. Sponsors are a must for the series
9. Series website shouldnt be too hard....no i'm not doing it lol
10. 2 reps from each club
