Hey mate. not part of the Glen Innes Committee, However the no refunds is standard across the board with AARCMCC sanctioned events.
as for the reason -
in the case of a rainout 50 competitors with 90 entries expecting a return of funds would cause a club to go broke generally due to the fact that a good majority of entry funds go towards a track rebuild before the event or upgrades of the premises.
as for everything else it is upto you to work out (ie kids, plans etc)
i understand this is not easy sometimes but you must also understand the amount of planning and work needed in preparation of a large event such as a state title.
Generally the 2 week entry cut off allows you to know what is going on and what a basic weather report is looking like for the weekend. there is also a possibility of late entries being accepted (possibly at an addition cost), however this is solely up to the clubs discretion.

Rule 2.8.15 states you aren't entitled to a refund, BUT it is at the clubs discretion to apply a refund. So it's not exactly a ruling its clubs discretion and is worded this way to cover the question. So just confirming if for some reason there was a re-run I couldn't attend, will there be no refund as per the website notes...

There are no Refunds as mentioned up front on entry. If this is something you are not comfortable with or you haven't raced sanctioned events where this is the standard then it might be safer for you not to enter.
Otherwise you are welcome to enter.

There are no re-runs as per the latest rule changes eg. SA titles.

So if this is the case is there a refund available if there are no re-runs? Seems like an odd situation whats to say 3 days before the event weather is looking sketchy and you say a non event. I could understand if you took some cash for clerical reasons but taking money for a non-event, seems like you should be checking with the ACCC on that one.

Refunds will not be issued. We will not be calling the event off 3 days out as our track crew will do everything possible to make it run including covering the track. There will be other options like cutting days short, merging days, running into night with lights (we will have power and lights) etc.
No refunds with sanctioned events is standard practice and this is not a unique situation to this event and hence why we are being transparent before the person enters with a no refund policy.
It has rained once in 6 months here and the outlook through to October is dry (which is unfortunate for the farmers) but if it's still a risk that people don't want to take then we suggest they skip the event.
Entry fee's are the cheapest part of racing. Travel, accommodation & tires will dwarf the cost of entry fee's.

Default Shelters

Hi GIRC,

I note you will have some additional shade shelters available. Just wondering if possible to book one for Southern Highlands RC Club? A few or us will be attending. Not having to haul one up there would be great!

Regards
