Hey Tak, would the dates actually be Friday 13th (practice day) to Sunday 15th of April?
Pretty sure there is only one day of practice allowed by AARCMCC rules for state title events, with no practice allowed for the Monday to Thursday prior.

This might be the biggest QLD ep-onroad titles in years.

Sorry Keith, I was not aware of that. I have amended the entry and the announcement. Can't change the topic, so it will remain the same.

We certainly expect it to be big as National title will be held at the track this year as well.

Sorry to sound like a whiny bit#* but This event would be even bigger if A, you could find decent priced accommodation and B, a decent priced flight into qld during this time because of the commonwealth games. Very disappointed especially in a nationals year with the dates of this state titles. Personally I think aarcmcc should have stepped in and forced a date change but that’s too late now. Might not matter to you locals but It’s valuable practice a lot of interstate competitors will miss out on at the nats track. I don’t know anyone who’s keen to drop $2k plus on flights and accommodation for a states! Hope you have a great event and End rant, see you in November.

Sorry that you cannot make it and your comments are noted. For the record, the date was set between QRCCRA and AARCMCC. It has been in the works since late last year. There are many considerations on the date we picked. AARCMCC has to consider other state events to maximise attendance for all events. QRCCRA also has other state title events for IC and LS.

Pretty much, no date is a good date for anything. We have done our best to pick the date. Since it has been announced and we know a lot of interstate racers are coming. It would be unfair to change the date after it has been announced.

Surely it would cost you $2k to maybe drive instead of flying. Just food for thought. And yes I do realise how far it is from SA. It's just a suggestion that's all.

Accommodation shouldn't be too bad, the track is not close to any of the games venues. A quick look on Expedia for the relevant dates shows twin rooms at about $150/night and two bedroom apartments from $200/night in the Chermside area.

There probably won't be many flight specials going, but Virgin has a return Adelaide flight for $500 (early Friday up, late Sunday return). There's a few reasonable flights on Thursday evening too.

Flights are always pricy to SA. I am going to SA IC title in Mar and airfare is 550 flying out of Gold Coast. Even more expensive from Brisbane.

Itís really random. I canít work out flights into BNE. From anywhere. Not just ADL.

I travel a reasonable amount for work and reckon I often pay less at two days notice that I do when booking for myself at 2months notice.

Well for anyone who makes the trip, from wherever they come from and however they get here, I reckon they won't be disappointed. 2016 state titles at Brendale had a few mod visitors from Sydney and I believe they were impressed.

It really is a great ep onroad venue - both the track and facilities. The club even does a little nitro on the side!

It is pretty much 2000km in each direction between Adelaide and Brisbane.

I did the road trip to the 2015 and 2016 SA titles and it was 8000km well worth the drive for those events. Might even repeat the road trip for this years event, not sure yet.

Must have done 50 thousand km's in racing road trips over 25 years. Only ever flew to one event, and it just wasn't the same.

This Event is unfortunately a clash with the SA offroad state titles too, so will just have to wait until Nats
