2018 Castle Hill Off Road Vintage Enduro 10/06/18 EP10 OFR
Hi Everyone!! The Castle Hill committee is proud to announce the Castle Hill Vintage Enduros for 2018 will be run on Sunday the 8th of April. We know it’s a quick turn-around after the Bathurst Enduro but we want to take full advantage of the favourable track conditions given that the race is 2 weeks after the club hosts the first round of the club series
There haven’t been much in the way of changes to the main 5 hour race, we proposed a few changes to points particularly on the higher points buggies, bringing them more into line with the competitiveness of the RC10 which everyone seemed happy with so you’ll see the 2018 buggy points list attached
With regards to the points values for particular buggies, the allocation takes into account the speed of the car, consideration is also given to rareness of the buggy, available gearing options, fragility and run time.
The biggest change this year is to the Blitzer race, we’ve obviously struggled to get good numbers so we’re opening it up to allow any plastic eligible buggy or hotshot buggy to run with the Blitzers/King Cabs also and we’ve dropped it to 90 minutes. Teams can run any combination of 2 buggies/trucks from those groupings and can be in a team of 2-4 drivers. If you do it with 2 drivers, you still need to ensure you have a marshal out at all times, so I recommend having your batteries near the pit stop table, also the pit stop time is 90 seconds for the Blitzer/Plastic race so you should have time to swap over and not lose time. The rules for the race are attached to this post.
A few little changes to the rules this year:
We’ve added a note about when a car breaks down, if its early in the lap then the team will need to take that lap time into account so must add it to the pit stop time
Once again this year both enduros will be run on the one day. The Blitzer/Plastic enduro will be a 90 minute event followed by the main enduro which will again run for 5 hours.
Fast Facts
5 hour - 3 or 4 Driver / multi car enduro
Motor: Johnson 540 motor for all cars (must be bought from the club or motors from the last few festivals/enduros may be used)
The plan is going ahead as follows, the race will start 30 minutes earlier than originally scheduled due to there being no Blitzer race. This also allows more practice time and a more relaxed schedule for qualifying
8am: Open practice (1 driver per team at a time)
915am: Track closed Drivers meeting
930am qualifying session (10 minutes) 1 driver per team
10am: 5 hour enduro race starts, ending 3pm
Batteries: 6000mah 2s lipo max (hard case) Li-HV not allowed
1 minute minimum pit stop time every time the car comes to the pits
Entry Fee : $30 per driver covers you for both enduros
To enter, please send me a pm with your team name, names of drivers, car for each driver and transponder number. Please pm me if you need the list of driver points allocation and let me know an email address I can send it to, or just send me the driver names and I can send you back the bonus points they earn. Also I do understand that the whole bonus points and points for cars is a bit complex, so I’m happy to help as much as I can to sort through it all so never hesitate to get In touch.
Entries will be on a first in, best dressed basis. We can have a maximum of 11 teams and I’m hearing there’s likely to be an extra team or two coming From Bathurst this year which is great news!
Hopefully that’s everything, all the best in organising your team, if you are looking for a driver or a driver looking for a team - please post in here or let me know.
Cheers
Mikey

I'll keep adding/rolling this post as we add teams

The 2016 & 2017 winners the Southern Highlanders are back again in 2018, featuring the same successful line up from the previous 2 years, these guys are looking for the three-peat, is anyone going to be able to stop them?
The 2017 runners up, The Dukes of Casso are back also, they came close to upsetting the Southern Highlanders run last year but were unable to maintain the pressure all the way through the race. Can they take the next step in 2018? Jason has been preparing the team Blitzer for the race which will also feature the iconic General Lee look
The Trihard Trio are back too, these guys took 2nd in '16 and 3rd in '17 so they know how these enduros work, same 3 dudes from last year - perhaps enrolling a 4th driver will help get them to the top step in 2018

I can confirm that Weak Link Racing, the reigning enduro non-event champions, will once again be primed and ready for a 2018 enduro cancellation.
Should by some unfortunate chain of events the 2018 enduro actually be run, our chances of victory while still probable, decrease slightly.
Once again captained by Dean 'the dean of mean' Kaufman, and loyally supported by Dr Clintory Q McMusgrovenor, Adam 'TQ McFancypants' Fjord and Esteban Sanchez Gomez Rodriguez Yamez, what we lack in driving finesse will more than be compensated by questionable sportsmanship and dodgy tactics.
Come rain, hail or sunshine, bring on the 2018 enduro mofos!

Team WLR to return!!
New years update!!
Last years non-event winners team Weak Link racing are back again. These guys are such hardened races that despite the original race date being cancelled, they presented the team at the track and raced on regardless, thus winning the 2017 non event enduro, secret photos of the race were leaked, including a form finish photo and the odd crash/breakage incident. Back again in 2018, again with probably the highest points allocation of the teams, they will likely feature a swag of Tamiya DF01 chassis complimented with a rogue Terra Scorcher driven by "The Dean of mean". Another of the teams to have adopted a team-wide body colour scheme including custom decals, it wont be hard to spot the white cars getting around. The team are unsure if they'll be putting an entry in for the blitzer/plastic enduro, watch this space

New team for 2018!!
Just got word in from Johnnyfive that he has formed a team with Andrew S and Scotty G known as the Super Ship munts. Andrew and Johnny were part of team Make RC great again last year so its cool to see them back. With a couple of RC10s and a Futaba FX10 (basically a striker) these guys should be in the hunt. They're also running in the Blitzer/hotshot/Plastic enduro

Race date could be moved
Hey All
We've had some communication from the council that they are planning on putting in the new drivers stand around March / April, the club is having a meeting on sunday to discuss changing the date of the club series round so i will advise you all as soon as i know
In entry news...Tryhard trio in for the Blitzer race! - They've had some bad luck the last few times this race has been on, maybe a change in rules/cars will help this year

Codgers are Back!!
Stop the presses!!!
the Codgers are back!! This race is really looking like a grudge match now!! Another of the original teams, the Codgers line up again, and if the new drivers stand is completed, the wheelchair access will be of great benefit to them Anyway, Rob Smith, Dave Martin and Big Bad Brian Goby are back with a slightly tweaked car line up, Rob will dust off his trusty old B2, Brian has will take over the RC10T and the biggest change this year being that Dave has his Cat XLS ready to rumble. These things could be the hot ticket this year and these guys could well take the top step on the podium in 2018!
The first team to lock in their entry for the enduro is the boys from bathurst. The team is mostly the same line up from last years "Once were drivers" team. A years experience under their belts and a stronger looking line up this year with a good points cap, these guys will be ones to watch. They're in for the Blitzer/Plastic enduro too
The 2016 & 2017 winners the Southern Highlanders are back again in 2018, featuring the same successful line up from the previous 2 years, these guys are looking for the three-peat, is anyone going to be able to stop them?
The 2017 runners up, The Dukes of Casso are back also, they came close to upsetting the Southern Highlanders run last year but were unable to maintain the pressure all the way through the race. Can they take the next step in 2018? Jason has been preparing the team Blitzer for the Blitzer/Plastic race which will also feature the iconic General Lee look
The Trihard Trio are back too, these guys took 2nd in '16 and 3rd in '17 so they know how these enduros work, same 3 dudes from last year - perhaps enrolling a 4th driver will help get them to the top step in 2018, the guys are also in for the Blitzer race

Just a quick update. Weak Link Racing has confirmed they will be running a team in the Blitzer / Plastic enduro also! One more team and this race will be official
Also please note that the date of the event will be changed, hopefully to somewhere in June as we have received confirmation from the council that the drivers stand will be constructed in March-April and have been advised not to plan any events around those times
