Hey there,
Where abouts are you goin to race. i'm in Bunbury too.... Will you be open to new members or is it just a few of you that made your own club? what classes will be run? 1/12 pan???

I'll let you know about carpet. my partners uncle and aunty used to own carpet court and i think are good friends with current owners so might be able to sort a deal.

how many square meters you after. preferably width x length if you already know.

Hi
we sort of have a venue lined up just need to confirm it, we will be open to all classes with the emphasis on fun. Pan cars are a must for carpet!

So far ive been quoted around $1200 for carpet 2 lengths 3.6mx20m.

we thought we might start out with an oval and go from there

i might be able to help. I live in Collie, and friends with Hara.

My nan owns a large furniture and carpet court in Mandurah. I know she has a warehouse full of carpet she wants rid of.

So....

what do you need? How much??

Cheers

Thanks for the interest, it would be great to get some folks from Collie down to race, any assistance is welcome

We got a price on 4, 10m x 3.6m rolls at $29 per metre for a very short loop pile carpet ($ 1150).

It would be great to have a look at some of the carpet on offer if possible.

Regards, Shane

Been doing some research.

Indoor/Outdoor carpet seems to be the pick if not Ozite.

There is not a supplier of Ozite in Aust. But am investigating further.

Get more details on Monday

I hope you can find some good carpet! It will be interesting to see how your chosen carpet will perform. Will you be updating this as you proceed with the build and after the carpets down? Some nice pics as well?

Bet there are lots who would love to see it happen!

Cheers, Brett.

Hi,
Should have some wood for the boundary and track shortly and I thought we could set it up on some asphalt and play with some track designs before we get the carpet, when it stops raining that is.

Howdy Taff,
I had actually thought of using 50mm pvc pipe split length-ways for barriers but that sounds like a good idea to get started anyhow.

I have built a few off-road tracks and you can find info on how to design your track here: http://www.ausrc.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16415

The idea is pretty much the same for on or off road tracks, take a look, it may help you to design yours.

Cheers, Brett.
