I've had my Lynx 3D for a while now, and have been looking for a replacement. Truthfully, the Futaba 3pk was the top one on my list. This seems to have changed my mind (especially for the price ).

Quick Q:

Will my old crystals for my Lynx 3D work? I am assuming that nothing has changed to the DCX and its crystals, and will function properly with the new CRX. That way I don't need to get any crystals.

Also, is the steering wheel supported by a ball bearing or 2? My Lynx is supported by bushings and has a somewhat disconcerting amount of play in it.

Okay, hopefully last question , would you know why they got rid of the DSC? That was quite helpful in the pits for warming up my engine... never needed to take off the body or get up out of my chair and stand next to the starter box moving the throttle horn!

I never used the Auto dual-rate as it was a bit of a hassle.

I lied (boy did I ever!) and in record time too! I have so many other questions I am going to number them!

1) what is going to be the list of different switches and nobs? Brake ATL, Dual-rate, toggle 3rd channel, etc....

2) Can I turn off the battery alarm? The old one was kind of annoying/ worrying when it kicked in when the battery jumps between 9.2 and 9.3.

3) What is RF indcator? Is that just an LED to show that the Tx is on?

4) What happened to the idle up function? That is used constantly by me. The most used switch on my Lynx 3D!

No matter the answers, if the quality of finish and fit is as good as you say, (and Xtreme mag says) I'm going to be sticking it out with Hitec. Also, my friend has been looking to step up his radio equipment and I think this radio will most certainly pique his interest!

(I love R/ Tech for reasons like this Hitec board.)

Thank you for all the time it takes to read and answer these questions of mine.

Here we go,

Yes your crystals will work fine, no change there.

I don't believe there is ball bearing support. Haven't taken my CRX apart to look either tho, LOL. Good question.

Don't know about the DSC.

Around the wheel: St. trim, Th. trim, 3rd channel linear.
On the grip: 3rd channel shift, dual rate, Throttle ATL

No you cant turn off the alarm.

The RF indicator will show you when you are transmitting. If you don't have the Tx module in the radio when its on, the very bright and blue led will not be on.

again, I don't know why it was removed.

Thanks for all the ??. Hopefully that helped you out a bit. TTYL.

The CRX does have a ball bearing supported wheel as does the newer model of the 3D.

Glad to hear the CRX has ball bearing support. I thought it would as I new the newer Lynx3D's had it too. I don't like the slop that builds up with bushings with time.

Mike,

Can we get the older 3D radios upgraded to the ball bearing steering?

Are there supply problems with the Aggressor CRX. Tower Hobbies is now showing availability as mid June. The date keeps moving out further and further.

tekrsq- It's a complete case change which would cost $50. I wouldn't worry about it... there is not that big of a difference.

oldnwise- The CRX's were delayed but they are due in any day now. Mid-June should be accurate. Sorry!

Mike.

Does anybody have the CRX yet? I'm still waiting for mine and it sucks everytime the date gets pushed back. If I had just had an accurate date in the first place, I wouldn't have sold all my stuff 2 months ago.
