Lynx 3D Control Issues
 

Hi all,
I have a Lynx 3D with an unusual problem. I'm running it with a Hitec HFS-03MC receiver, and with the transmitter antenna fully retracted it works perfectly. As I begin to extend the antenna, the servo and ESC begin to glitch, until with the antenna about halfway out, there is no control at all. I removed the module and inserted it into a Futaba aircraft transmitter and it worked perfectly regardless of antenna position. Any suggestions? With thanks in advance. Cheers.

How close to the car are you when testing?

First found problem when running car outside, so range varied from a couple of feet to probably 50 or 60 feet, and have same problem on bench inside house. I installed the Lynx module into the Futaba aircraft TX I mentioned and performed the same tests with the car performing flawlessly. I had thought it may just be a dry join on a solder joint inside TX, and on inspection, found one where antenna mount is soldered to board. Re-soldered joint and tested again with same result. Was unable to see any other dry joins.

Yes, sounds like a cold solder joint, like you found.

The problem may be componded now due to the cold solder joint.
With the cold solder joint, the ANT. was disconected, which is VERY bad for any radio, as there is no load on the final amplifier, which can cause them to over heat.

Where are you located?
As, I would suggest sending it in for a checkup.
