Hitec HS-5925MG Question

I have a question - I am currently using the Hitec HS-5925MG Digital Ultra Speed Servo on my Xray T1-Factory Kit, which I have used for about 7 months now with GREAT success. But now it is starting to have "Play" in it. What I mean is that I can take the servo horn and wiggle it with out the wheels moving. Does this mean that the gears are worn out or is there something else wrong? If someone could give me a direction in which I should go, I would appreciate it.

- Clark

It could be that the teeth on the horn are wearing a little bit or it could be that you are starting to see some gear wear now. A lot of the time with metal gears you can rotate the center gear 180 degrees to tighten the gear train back up.

I have the same servo and teh same problem, but I dont understand what you mean about tightening the drivetrain. I run Touring Car as well and I am having a small problem with getting the servo to track straight. Thanks.

P.S. you wouldnt happen to know which losi servo horn fits on this servo would you? I think its a 24 just want to be sure. Thanks.

If the servo is not centering due to gear wear then you can tighten the gear train back up by rotating the center gear 180 degrees. This allows the teeth to the mating gears to run in virgin material.

The servos do have a 24 tooth spline.

What is the part number for the bag of MP replacement gears for this servo. I believe it comes as a bag of a quantity of 4 gears. I seen this packaged at a hobby shop that is now closed, and want to order it from my new LHS.

tia,

Thanks for the fast reply. However, I already knew the number for the complete metal gear set, mine are hardly worn. This was not the full gear set. This was a bag with a header card that contained four or five of the so-called "unbreakable" MP gears that strip out at an alarming rate.
