Lynx 3D Jiggle-Glitch!
Hey, I have a little problem with my Lynx 3D. When I run, or jiggle the controller or move it quickly, etc, the car will glitch. This generally isn't a problem at all aside from when I run to the drivers stand to start a race, and I see that my car has moved off pole position.
Is there a fix to it?? |
Check to see if your antenna is tight. Over time it could come a little loose and cause that proplem.
|
I just tried to twist it, and it keeps on twisting. It seems to be crossthreaded maybe or its lost its thread because it tightens up and then skips and you are back at square one again. Should I open it up and have a squizz.
|
That would be where the glitch is coming from. Turn the antenna out and look at the threads on the bottom of it. If they look fine then you have stripped out the mount for the antenna inside the radio. How old is your radio?
|
I'm not too sure, i bought it second hand from a friend.
Just checkin the antenna now. |
The antenna just spins when I try to take it out, as in, its very firmly in there, but it won't screw out or screw further in.
|
I would say the antenna is stripped. If you pull on the antenna when turning it, will it start to thread out? If you get it out, you can put a washer under it for now to get clearance to keep the threads tight.
|
If I turn and pull it out, it just keeps turning and doesn't want to come out. I was thinking about pulling it apart and soldering the antenna to the thread so there is a good contact between the antenna and the mount, good idea or not?? What's your suggestions??

Your Lynx
Just send it away to be serviced, ring Model engines and get the phone number for orchid hobbies. (they are in Niddrie Vic)
I sent my radio off after the menu started to reset it self, while using it. They recalibrated the whole unit, now its like new. And best of all it only cost $35 bucks aussie! I have had my 3D ,for over 5 years now and this was the only time it has needed attention. All my radio parts are Hitec, HFX speedys, 925 servos, and of course receivers. The only time I use another speedy is when I run my 8 turn in the tourer, and thats a Tekin g-10. I see no need to use other stuff as Hitec products have served me well for over 10 years of service. Good luck ;) |
You may not have stripped anything... The bolt that threads into the antenna rod is held down by a nut at the bottom. From time to time they do come loose. Take the radio apart in half & tighten the screw & nut, that should solve your problem. If the problem persists just send it to Hitec and they'll take care of the problem for you.

Did this fix the problem?
