Default Servo spontaneous combustion

Is this rare and how do I get my servo replaced....

I have a brand new HS 225mg that I bought for a dig servo - Got everything installed but left the arm off for setup and got smoke immediately from servo...

I was using a CC bec set to 6v and I have a 7955TG on the car to...

Can you help - If i ship now I'm not going to see anything until the other side of the new year

I guess I expected this but was hoping for more...

It is dissapointing but I'm going to see if I can find a 225 plastic locally and swap over the metal gears... At least I wouldn't be down for a couple of weeks.

Is this ok to still send in the servo with the plastic gears?

Not sure, call the service dept to verify.
They can also give you turn around times for repair.

If you purchased the servo at your LHS, they may be able to help as well.

PS Hitec were great and shipped me out a new servo and prepaid envelope for the old one...
