Hitec 645MG issues
I have always ran the 645MG in my RC trucks since it came out and have never had an issue. I recently bought 2 more645mg's from my local hobby shop. With in an hour, both servos stripped out on my TXT-1. I was crawling up my sidewalk when they stripped. Is there something different about the 645mg's now? The gear that stripped was the bigger gear inside that is very thin. Both servo's stripped the exact same gear. I just wanted to ask and see if you had any insight on this matter. Thanks in advance.

Nothing has changed on those servos since their introduction. Which gear stripped? Was it the hybrid "MP" gear which is a nylon spur with a metal pinion gear in the center?

yes i believe that is the gear that stripped. without having the servo in front of me i cant be 100% sure. im at work now. It looked like a metal coated nylon gear. I was just dumbfounded that they stripped. I have always and will always run hitec servos. I was just curious if something changed in the production of them. I can let you know this evening what gear it was exactly. Thanks for your quick response.

I have never ran a Clod but I know they are big and heavy I have an AX-10 , and blew out a 645MG. Then I switched to 985MG. No problems ( about 50 hours on truck with 985MG) My advice is to stop spending money on mediocre servos and many gear kits.\ Buy A 985MG or 7955TG, or the newest and strongest (most expensive) 7950TG 444OZ @ 6.0v:weird: |
