Hs-5925mg

Got a new HS-5925. When powered up the servo notice the constant high pitch noise and the servo horn is slightly moving back and forth (vibrarating or shaking or whatever you call it)..

Is it normal?

The high pitched sound you hear comes from all digital servos. The stuttering doesn't sound right tho. What have you got the servo in?

Nothing yet, just right out of the box.

Okay, if you called that "stuttering"... it's doesn't stutter all the time.

It's looks like the servo is trying to centering itself. Maybe it's just try to find the "sweet spot" - perhaps that's why it stutter.

At any rate, do I have 1 year warranty for this? What is the turn around time?

I will install the servo in the car and run this weekend. If the stuttering doesn't stop, should I send it back and get it repair or replace?

The warranty is for 2 years. Try it out and see how it works for you. TTYL.

Gary,

Still have the same problem after I clean the pot. Took the cover out to inspect the gears. No teeth were missing.

I try to pwr it up, noticed the motor never stop spinning.

The motor never stopped spinning, not until I turned the POT all the way CCW. I think the motor should stop when the POT is set to or near the center. Maybe it was a defective POT, I know the Digital Servo have a fine resolution, perhaps the POT just a tiny bit out of tolerance. The Date Code is MAR 02

I have a lady at work (these ladies are Pro and certified to work on SMT component) clean the circuit board and the POT - No Joy.

I also have the lady trimmed the servo wire make it shorter as the wire come with it is about a mile long. If the trusted them to work on our $16million dollars project, you bet I trust them to work on my $100 servo :D

I will go and run the car again today after work. Maybe the POT have not broken in yet;)

If the problem still there, I'd like to send the servo back and have you guys fix it or replace or whatever you see fit. What is the turn around time for such an item?

Oops

When I have sent in items for repair/replacement the turn around time has been about a 7-10 days from the day I ship it to the day I get it back
