Multiplex Polo Digi 4 and Multiplex 75mhz Pico power draw?

I have a tendency to overdescribe, so if you don't want to read all below, the basic question is this..

How much more power does the Multiplex Polo require than say a analog servo such as the Hitec 85mg? 2X? Since a digital servo is "on" all the time, its amp draw is consistently higher, while a analog is only so when moving, correct?

I dont think its the servo in itself, but I am trying all avenues.

I purchased the Multiplex Polo Digi 4 for my M18 Pro. I'm using a ancient JR756 radio with either the 75mhz Multiplex 4 channel Pico micro receiver or a gws 75mhz micro. I run at 7.4 volts.

Its a multipart story...

Bench Testing:

With the gws receiver and a speed 300 motor running from a IPD esc (modified helicopter esc) I was getting a weird glitch in that if I turned quickly to the full left the motor would engage momentarily. If on throttle, it would "jump" the throttle to that glitch. I tried the multiplex receiver with the same effect. I then tried changing to a Castle Creations Mamba ESC and no longer encountered it with either receiver.

Track:

Because I run speed 300, the mamba was not a option. I switched to the multiplex receiver and borrowed a friends Futaba MC230CR. The track is a small indoor asphalt with a low ceiling. I encounted while driving on the back straight and front corner a weird glitch. Same areas, would effect it so I assume in part its dealing with a range or signal strength (though read on). The car would continue to turn even if I counteracted or went to neutral in these areas once in awhile, or continue to go straight while I was turning. Throttle seemed unaffected by this behavior as far as I could tell.

I should note I use the same type of multiplex receiver in my M18T on that track with a Hitec 81MG and Mamba without errors.

Hypothesis asking about:
Im trying to see if this digital servo is drawing so much power when engaged, that a less advanced esc is not able to consistently send a continuous amp? draw to the receiver. So in areas of the track that the receiver strength is weaker, since the esc is not able to meet the bec demands of the receiver with this Polo servos continous amp draw, it looses signal strength/range.

So should I be looking for a stronger esc, a more "buff" receiver, or combination of the both to work with your servo? Or is this servo drawing more power than it should be (A dud)?

My best estimate would be about 50 mah more current draw from the polo digi. Do you know what the BEC amperage limit is on your ESC? It could be that you are drawing more current that what the ESC will allow.

Unfortunately no. The esc doesnt list the amperage. I believe you may be right. I have gone ahead and ordered a higher end esc (LRP Quantum Competition 2) and will try a different receiver as well before pointing to the servo as malfunctioning.
