HS5745MG receiver pack question

a guy at a local hobby shop told me a 5 cell c size 3800 or 4200 pack would kill the servo

he said in the passed month he has seen 2 fry from heat do to too much voltage
for the higher mah packs

the servo is in an fg 5th scale

thanks in advance

The sub C packs allow for higher amp draw than normal Rx packs.
Not voltage.

If something is not setup correctly or if something puts the servo in a bind.
The higher amp draw can cause more issues.

This is true with any servo.

1/5 scale is very brutal on servos.

.

the whole rig electronics and all have less then 5 tanks on it

he's more of a parking lot cruiser then off road

kind of pointless for a 5th monster truck

he also has the habit of leaving the on/off switch on

what mah would you suggest to run

and i didnt even think about the amp draw

thanks man

Well I know on the stock tamiya ESC's they wun the reciver off the battery pack. That is a larger cell and 3800 MAH. That system does not wreck any servo's

We are talking about Rx packs.

On electric cars the the BEC of the esc/RX limit amperage to the servo.

I used to run 7.2 volts on the servo with no trouble.

You ran the servo leads straight to the battery and not into the Rx?
